Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Ok so, I had this friend and we were so so so so close to each other. We were literally attached at the hip. That was until around November of 9th grade in 2017. She started distancing herself from me and I talked to her about it multiple times and she just said stuff like "no I'm not distancing myself" or "I've just been so busy." The truth is, she wasn't busy. She was only 'busy' for me. She would tell me she is busy and then would put something on her Snapchat story like "ugh im so bored someone hang w me". That really hurt. As time continued, she started hanging out with another girl (who happens to be popular) who has never liked me for some reason (ever since i moved there in 7th grade). I think that is also where some of the issues started. She was getting farther and farther from me and it made me wonder what I did. Then, on New Years Eve/Dayish (1:00 am-ish), she put something on her instagram story like "stupid fam time, I had plans w friends and now my mom wont let me go out".
BACKGROUND INFO: we promised each other to tell the other when one of us was invited to something that the other wasn't. This was so it wouldn't seem like we were being purposely exclusive.
I wasn't invited to anything with her and she didn't tell me (like promised) so I texted her and asked "remember when we made that promise to each other about one being invited to something the other wasn't? did that happen tonight?" and she responded with "what do you mean?" and I didn't respond within a minute and she got really pissed off. She went off like "wdym 'did that happen tonight?' like ur my mother?" and then she goes, "THIS is why I stopped talking to you." That sentence right there hit me like a truck and I just started crying. I was at my friends house (from my old school) and she was so suprised about what the girl texted me. After the whole New Years situation, me and the girl didn't talk for like 2 weeks (even though I texted her like 20 times trying to ask her what I did to make her hate me). Then she randomly texts me "hey sorry about all the stuff can we go back to being friends?" and I said no because I was in so much pain those 2 weeks not knowing what I did. I forgave her eventually but we were still very distant. She and I had some more issues and she started talking to the popular girl who doesn't like me too much (about me). She said that I was faking being dumb for attention and that no one likes me and how I stare at her in class. I wasn't gonna sit back and let her say these things about me so i confronted her about it and we both said some pretty harsh things. We also agreed to never talk again. This was in March. It still sometimes affects me because I see her in the hallways and we barely look at each other, but less than a year ago we were talking about boys and periods. She is now TRYING to hang out with the popular crowd and I think that's where this whole issue started, she just wanted popularity. It was a really shitty way to get popular and she's so fake now and I hate it. Please help me because I sometimes can't take my mind off of it. If you have any tips about how to cope, please tell me. Thanks for reading so much lol.

Do you see a Therapist or a Counselor? It might be better to have someone like that to talk to about life and emotions and the tough things, so that when you're with your friends you can be a little more relaxed and just enjoy their company.
My heart goes out to you, it's not easy.
Probably the hardest part of growing up is finding that peace within yourself. So that if one friend changes or leaves...that you're still okay inside.
Give yourself time to grieve for a month or two...it's a real loss. And then move on with your life. Smile at her in the hall...but then either find new interests, concentrate on your studies, or make new friends.
