Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I fucking hate this... I cant think straight....
*FUCK YOU YOU BASTARDS.... LET ME OUTTA THIS FUCKING HOLE*
i'm sorry you're in that pit.
I really wish that we were given users guides for our psyche; it is a rather complex beast. Especially when it gets all chummy with the daemons of depression.
Please, don't fret about your thought of you while your brother is dyeing. I lost my sister a few months back, but it was sudden. I can barely imagine how you must feel watching your brother go, but go slowly.
It is very painful to experience that.
But the daemons of depression latch onto that, and piggy back our personal pains onto what you are going through for your brother. But in this case, I think you need to allow yourself to indulge in yourself along side of your brother. Your pains are real, and denying them will only make it harder to deal with your brother.
I'd love to say something funny to cheer you up, but I can't right now. Don't know the words. (The green one may, she can be really good at that!)
So here is a strong pepper powered hug from me. Along with a kick in the arse to jump start your brain. Working through pain is the key, so please engage. And know that you have a mountain of friends here. Some hard and firm, some soft and squishy, some know what to say almost all the time (not me), some know that you have what it takes, but that it is hard to take it (now I know that about you!).
You can do it; one day at a time, one friend at a time.
Powerpacked hugs for you
I am struck by the guilt that you have for having feelings and being human.
You have every right to feel emotionally spent, and always try to remember the oxygen mask metaphor. (note to self; do the same)
Keep posting. You don't always have to be funny or "on" for us.
We love you.
XO
I am so thankful that you have the twins, and your friends, and your family who all love you. It's something awesome to live for! I so understand, however, wanting to just give up. It's a horrible feeling that makes fighting that much harder. BUT, I know you want to live, because of all you have said here.
Reaching out both hands to you. Grab a hold, and never let go. I'll pull, and never will let go. Hopefully we can get you through this soon. In the meantime, please try hard not to feel guilt, and beat yourself up because of your feelings. Allow them to come, and deal with them the best you can when they do.
More hugs..lots of love...xxxxxxxx
What's the oxygen mask metaphor? I've never heard of that one.
Beastie, please don't get down on yourself. It's hard watching a loved one wither away. I know it was hard with my grandparents. Be gentle with yourself and allow yourself to feel what you feel. Just know that your friends on DS are here for you.
Annie
Huge Hugs, keep fighting the battle!
Big (((HUGS)))
Your pain is every bit as real and every bit as terrible as your brother's. Don't ever give up Beastie, because when the storm clears you'll feel the warmth of the sun on your face again and those little boys will have you around to share special moments for years ahead.
I'm so sorry your brother is dying; I can't begin to think how awful this is. But remember how precious you are to us, and especially to me.
