If you want to go to the hospital you should go. I have voluntarily admitted myself before just because I did not know what else to do. But trust me, once you get in there you will have a different perspective and start working with people who will help you take steps on getting out of there. But you have to take a few steps back from your life sometimes to figure it out.

I see that you are only 13. Are your parents abusive? Verbally or physically abusive? You're definitely not worthless and drugs might help. Do you think your parents would help you to get some help like medication and /or therapy? I know it's hard but try to tell us as much as possible about what's going on. I know you don't know any of us yet but there are a lot of good people here who really do care, Just keep talking,okay?

I am sorry that your parents are verbally abusive. You don't deserve to be treated that way and you are a worthy person. Tell your parents that you have something important to talk to them about. Let them know how you are feeling and that you think you should see a therapist or a counselor and possiblyy need to go to the hospital.

Your parents need to realize this is extremely serious situation and to play it off like its not a big deal and this will just "go away". Many parents because of what society has labeled what depression can/will do, that "My child is not depressed. There is no way. He/She has everything they need." Well tell you what if your parents won't listen to you, we definitely will. We are all here to help you. Being a young teenager is tough. A lot of changes going on around you. It can be overwhelming. Let us help you before you do something you cannot undo

I'm really sorry your mom wasn't helpful. Do you think you could approach your dad and talk to him about it? If you really do get to the point where you feel like you will hurt yourself or kill yourself then call the police and tell them you need to be hospitalized.

I have found that sometimes people, especially parents, can be mean, try to ignore the situation, or trivialize my feelings when it comes to depression. In my case (I cannot speak for you because I do not know you or your parents), my parents do this because seeing me in pain puts them in so much pain so they try to rationalize my feelings in their minds to make themselves feel better. I am not saying it's fair; it totally is not when you just have to sit there struggling with it and they can escape it. Talking to your parents about this could maybe open their eyes a bit. But right now, you should not worry about that - you need to focus on you and you alone. Your first priority has to be yourself, especially since you are suicidal right now. You need to reach out to someone - a teacher, counselor at school, trusted adult, understanding aunt - SOMEONE. And trust me when I say you have not tried everything - that is not meant to be mean, but rather uplifting. You are only 13 so as you get older your perspective will change and you will realize there are other options. Plus, reaching out to others, WHICH YOU HAVE TO DO TO KEEP YOURSELF SAFE, can give you different perspectives. Please keep using the dailystrength forum for support. sometime you have to find someone else to talk to besides parents. As a parent I'm not perfect myself and I may not be able to help my son in his growth. I can only do what I emotionally and physically can handle. Your parents have their own hurts and habits in there life. You gotta keep moving forward and fighting the thought that taking your life will be the answer.

I hope you can grow past this part of your life because one day you will look back and see it has completely changed!
