So beastie I bet you felt much better letting it out. My son was in a fraternity and the brothers had to warn others of their transgression. They were required to say "safety." I you were caught not saying "safety" you were punished. I don't know what the punishment was. But it must of been effective. To this day you'll be talking to my son and out of the blue he'll say "safety."

The ventriloquist fart - It is simply any fart that can be emiited in such a way as to make the sound come from somewhere other than where it originated. In certain circumstances it can be handy. Say like when that uppity aunt that thinks her sh*t doesn't stink is visiting. A properly thrown fart takes great talent. It is priceless though to see the look on that uppity aunt's face when everyone in the room hears it coming from her. Oops" SAFETY"
