Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Convicted child molester acting as though he and the homeless advocate who has an office in MY LANDLORD'S BUILDING own the place!
I've been trying to rescue/trap an abandoned cat, that the couple downstairs left behind when they moved; put a trap out this morning, called for the cat----homeless convicted child molester comes out of apt the landlord has him cleaning up, to tell me he lives downstairs now, he to adopt the cat, I shouldn't contact animal abuse, and that I owe the homeless advocate I cursed at when she left cat out, an apology!
I lived here ten years with no hassles from me to my landlord, paid rent on time, shoveled sidewalk every winter, had to put up with lowlifes in adjacent building----but now the friends? of the lowlifes from that building are now in building where I live?!
Homeless people---who have a nasty attitude----hanging outside, with me to avoid; I'm right back to being afraid to leave my apt, for somebody stealing the few things I do have.

Many of you know Mr K told me to "shut your mouth" in March 2025 when we took a road trip to Alpena Michigan. Since that time, we have had lots of ups and downs but I have never intentionally hurt Mr K in anyway. And when we first started dating in 2024 he let me know, although he is an engineer by degree, he has an extremely low EQ. Overall, he is ok (not off the charts nice like other guys in...

I am right there with you. I am the nerdy one in glasses. But you know a lot of nerds rule the world, right? Lol think of Bill Gates.
I think you should find hope in the fact that troublemakers can find love and friends because if they can than a good person like you can as well.
This guy may not do anything to physically hurt Penn, but it's not beyond reason to be weary of it.
I live in a hick town, around trouble making white trash who don't have any problem putting down blacks, latinos, and gays.
people on this site bad mouthing me when enough of the people I'm complaining about are RACIST.
penntucky...banjovania....not meant as a good description of the redneck crackers I live around.
the dopes, yeah maybe addicts, who lived next door----they stole stuff from cars in a garage a few houses up this street, and then sold the stolen stuff to a used store a few houses down this street....such stupidity is scary, with such people maybe one day stealing my stuff, and probably throwing it away cause foreign language dvds and classical music cds aren't big sellers in 2nd hand shops.
right now, I have one hundred dollars in the bank; not as though rich vs poor I'm complaining about. And, even though I'm hetrosexual, I also know what it's like to be called a f%g.
the homeless, addicts, drunks, thieves, molesters, I have trouble with, have no sense of shame, or sympathy for anybody.
was 15 years ago somebody told me of one of the homeless bunch who 4ever hang out at a rr trestle killed a cat and hung it from the trestle, as a joke.
the end; only one or two people seem to understand the people I'm stuck around in my rural ghetto.
People very easily misinterpret colloquial language from others. Especially on forums where tone is unknown.
cops were knocking at my door----for some woman who stole stuff.
I heard the knock, at this point worried knock was for upstairs bunch for me to avoid---I just came in from post office, for other tenant to tell me the cops looking IN THIS BUILDING for a woman who stole something.
if I ever have to sue this bunch, for one of them breaking into my apt----I can find LOTS of police reports to this homeless group home, with absolutely none of them coming from me, but from ambulance here, cops taking somebody away in cuffs, etc. etc.
thanks again---I can be as liberal as next person, and I know...I...have a bad reputation in my own town, from the wrong people I've stupidly tried to be friends with.
I'm not writing about generalities, but my own neighbors.
(hopefully, the end for me; again, it's not as though I have local people to complain about this stuff about...small town rural stuff that avg person don't know about)
So sick of judgmental people. This place sucks.
there are lawyers in my county who do mostly disability claims.
how much more of my own worthless life am I supposed to have to reveal here for people to get it that I've known these people, or people like these, since....1970s!
and, I've lived in this town my entire life!
anybody wanna hear the details about the local young mom who shot her baby in the head, got five years for it, with her elderly boyfriend complaining she got too much jail time? I knew her parents in 1980s, before they went over the edge with drugs.
Keep in mind this is a site that is filled with people battling mental health issues, recovery from addiction, poverty, yes some have even been homeless. There are also many on disability to due mental and/or physical issues. Many here also have family and/or friends that have dealt with these issues. So when you begin to judge others over these issues it feels like we're all being judged.
This is a support group after all. Members of DS that are recovering/battling addiction and mental illness do not need to see addicts/alcoholics being belittled because it makes them feel like they are being belittled.
I also apologize for my little outburst. It is not constructive to healthy discourse, but when you judge people on disability you are judging many people on this site. That is not what a support group is supposed to be about. But I also do not want to judge and get angry with others because that is also not what a support group is about.
It would make an interesting debate as to what various social-economic groups of people have what traits and to what degree.
But not, I suspect, here.
May I propose that we reword comments to forms like "people who abuse animals" rather than add on adjectives such as 'drug addicts' or 'homeless'?
I tend to be a bit like Pollyanna in that I hope that everybody is capable of turning themselves around.
Anyone I have ever known to have drink and abuse drugs has abused someone while under the influence at some point.
It is obvious that if a person is an alcoholic or a drug addict they they have mental health issues. That is what they turned to to feel better. That does not excuse their behaivor, and they do not deserve welfatre checks.
My father is a homeless piece of shit now who just got arrested again. He abused me my whole child hood and was an alcoholic and a drug addict. I have no pity for criminals. No matter how depressed they claim to be. I am depressed I'm not out beating and raping children.
Disabled people need disability checks to help them live their lives.
