I'm someone who went a long way and still have a long way to go... Coming from a dysfuctionnal family, I managed to get functionnal, though the lack of the image of someone functionnal around me makes it hard.
Some people say I'm strong or courageous because of all I went through and how I dealt with it all. I'm not seeing myself like that, though. I just do whatever it takes to save myself...
Salamar is a deformation of "sale mort" (dirty death). It keeps coming in my mind, though I do not want to consider it as an option.
I've changed a great deal through the last years, and still will change a lot during the incoming years, but I'll always be a fighter. And I'll reach my goals...

Hi, I'm new, just discovered this site about a month ago and just joined a couple of weeks back ... I'm trying to get through a rough breakup and salvage my self esteem ... I've only been this depressed once before, several years ago after a different boyfriend cheated on me. For the first time I've started seeing therapist to talk about and make sense of what I'm feeling. The depression comes in waves; some days I'm OK, other days I'm a mess. I've been mainly just reading the posts to cull some insight and ideas on how to cope. Thanks to everyone who is here!
