Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I would also go along to the hospital and not tell him. I can understand him asking for nobody to be there..Maybe deep down, he really wants loved ones at the hospital?
Peace, Love and Lights..
If it was my brother I'd get a nice visit in before the surgery, but ultimately I would respect his wishes. We have so little control over anything in life. If my brother would rather be alone, I would respect his wishes. Personally, I'd rather have people there with me, but the surgery isn't about me.
Then throughout the surgery I wouldn't worry and hope for the best. When he was done with the surgery and in recovery, I'd go see him.
I would go and just not let on, let his dr. know you don't want him to know you're there..
just in case, it would be far better than a phone call.
Wish I had done that when it was my brother....
be there for him, his family and you...
Unless you have that kind of relationship with him.
Being there in the hospital is not really for the patient, it is for the family, friends, and other loved ones. Be there for you, your sister, his wife, everybody who loves him.
And please know that we will be with you in spirit. So when things feel bad just think of us:
Bistro doing a lap dance,
Archtype (remember her?) sitting on the fence,
Repo and stevie sitting in low cut lawn chairs drinking pepsi and eating popcorn,
The bus on auto pilot running around fetching us to come be with you,
Winny serving toenail pie to all interested parties,
And all of us doing the good karma mojo dance under a full moon.
Titanium reinforced pepper hugs to you and yours
Whatever you need to do to cope.
I will let you know.. Keep the faith...
I send positive vibes into the ether, I hope it helps.
