Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Does your brother have custody of your kid?
Was your child just there because you had to take her with you to babysit?
Besides this incident have you done anything in the past that has flared your brother up like this?
Are the meds prescribed to you?
I hope that the meds were prescribed to you and that you arent buying them on the street and known as a pill seeker in your family. Obviously you deal with depression. Has your brother ever voiced his opinion that when you are depressed you neglect your child? I am just trying to grasp my head around this. I just dont understand why your brother threw such a fit and kept your kid simply because you got drowsy on your meds. I do think that you need to make some kind of effort to get your child out of that home. Otherwise he will say that you have made no attempt and possibly get you with abandonment.
Child endangerment I guess could be used in a case like this depending on the ages of the children and if they harmed themselves or were doing something dangerous while you were out. But..I think that once you explained what had happened and how you told your brother that you didnt find it to be a good idea to watch the kids because of your meds...everyone would side with you.
In the morning get up and go to your brothers..off of the meds and get your child. If he doesnt comply and shuts the door on you...then you call the police to get them to make him open the door. He has no right to do this. Maybe he even intervened because he was afraid that if you dozed off at the house with the kids then driving home with your child wasnt a good idea. Or that you would fall asleep once you got home and your child would be on their own. Just be sure to fight for your rights and fight for your daughter. Even in court you have to be a royal piece of shit to not beable to see your child. I know this first hand from my ex. I dont think that you will have any problem getting your kid from there tomorrow.
I have custody of my kid. I raise her all by myself. She was just with me because I was watching his kids.
Nothing has ever happened to make him act like this before.
Yes the medications were prescribed due to severe mouth pain until i could afford a dentist. My appointment is tomorrow.
My brother doesn't care about my kid, he cares about being in control. My other brother went over there and got my daughter back and handled things.
My child is 2 and her cousin is 3, but as soon as I got to his house this morning I fed his kid and got her dressed for the day. They were just sitting there watching tv and playing on their computer and perfectly content. Nothing went wrong and nothing happened. They're very independent. I remember my niece waking me up asking me to open her sippie cup so she could fill her water up cause she likes to do it alone. I did that and I guess I fell back asleep.
I don't drive, so I know that it's not that he was concerned about that. And my other brother was home and I live with him. So there was no reason for him to even try that.
