Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
No matter what I do I'm never good enough. I keep trying to be perfect for everyone but I am failing. My mom has been mad all week. I don't know how to help her. She's in pain and my brother won't help her at all. He's 25. I'm 16. Why am I held accountable for mom? Why can't I just do one thing right for her? Why can't he do something to make her life easier? A lot of people say I'm crazy for wanting to go back to school so soon. But I can't stand it at home. At school I know I will have distractions and people who help me or make me a little less stressed. Home all there is is stress and anger and hate. I have a friend who listens to me but he just doesn't understand. He says he does but how can he? He doesn't need to hear how I really feel. If he did I'd be down a friend. I know. Yesterday I just felt empty. I didn't feel sad necessarily or happy. Not even okay. Just empty. But I put a smile on so no one would notice. I just want to talk to someone who really understands how that feels. To just feel nothing. Like it wouldn't matter if you were there or not.

Everyday I feel more and more sick. Being in pain every day, I've learned to disguise it. So well that others don't believe my pain when I speak of it. Needing help but only receiving negative responses, I find my way but pay for it later. I absolutely need the rest but there's pressing things to be done.

Ugh my depression is really being triggered by the grief of losing my mom. Ugh it sucks. I wish this pain would leave me already.

Trying to handle things like you are is already admirable, but very risky.
And someone your age should be at school, no matter what happens in your family, staying in the house full of problems 24/7 will just end you. You need smthg else outside of all this mess.
Also trying to be perfect for everyone is alright, but not if it means at the expense of being alright with yourself. Self confidence cannot be found in the approval of others I think.
Best of luck, hope these few words were somehow useful, but know that by handling all of this, you're already 10x stronger / better than most adults I know
Then I would get the hell out of there.
But not giving up on trying to get better is important, especially when you're as young as you are.
hiding everything all time works, until it doesn't, and then you just crash.
DS is a good place to dump all your feelings! We get it, and have a much higher ability to deal with vents and rants!
Have you asked your brother why he is not helping your mom? He may have reasons, he may have learned her game years ago and is very tired of it.
I am also a member of a group that cares for aging parents (or in my case my aging MIL who lives with my wife and me). We have learned from each other that we need to establish limits for them. In my case I need no emotional or financial support from my MIL, so that puts me in a different position than you. But the limit thing still holds.
One of the first things to do is to not allow your sense of well being to spring from your mother; if she finds that out she may milk you for all the pity she can get and still not thank you for anything.
Limits can be hard, but spend some time thinking about it. For example you may let her know that 4:00 to 5:00 is homework time, 5:00 to 6:00 is dinner / clean up time, and 6:00 to 8:00 is finish homework time. And that she needs to schedule her needs outside those hours. (Obviously this example is off the top of my head and if it reflects your situation it is only luck on my part.)
Keep in mind that you have a lot of years ahead of you, and use your time now to make sure that you make a good future available for you. (Dedicating your life to caring for a mother who never gets enough is a sure fire way to create a bleak future for yourself.)
Gentle hugs, and please know that there is a path that gets you to where you want to be!
