I don't know why today is so hard, especially after I felt a little better yesterday.
Maybe because I saw my sister and nephews yesterday and waking up all alone in my empty apt was depressing. I'm tired of being alone.
I feel this heaviness over me. I feel slow. I feel like every little task takes enormous effort.
I feel at the verge of tears all the time.
I'm at work now, as a nurse, taking care of other people, and I know I'm good at what I do. But a part of me wishes I could be the patient with people taking care of me.
I have to keep working though. It's the only thing that keeps me going.
It is just soo hard. Every task feels like climbing mount Everest.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I'm sorry you feel lonely. I can only imagine how dreadful it must be to keep trudging through your work, wondering what it would be like to be on the receiving end of the help and care that you personally provide for others. I just want to tell you that you're awesome for being a nurse! My sister is on her way to becoming one as well, and I can only tell you that the effort you put in means the world for your patients and their loved ones (but I bet you already know this haha!).
You know, when professional athletes train, they sometimes do so at high altitudes. With less oxygen than at ground level, they become accustomed to not receiving as much oxygen as the rest of us. This helps them out because when they come back down for their big day, they are able to put in all the work and exercise without needing as much oxygen, conserving their energy. It you're climbing Mount Everest every day, just think about the kind of training you're putting your brain through! Imagine the immense relief that is to come when you're at a point in your life where depression won't weigh you down. You're doing the hard stuff right now. But you gotta trust that when the battle is over life will get better and become that much easier.
I hope you stay strong, take breaks, and keep going! You're not alone, ever. Not here. Not over there. Not anywhere. All it takes is one conversation or one simple "hello." Doors will open for you, I swear. You see, you have a friend right here = )
We love you already.
You're at work though and that's really awesome, it can be hard to take care of others when you're not feeling good yourself.
I'm going dancing tomorrow night. Maybe there's some activity you can join? One where you meet humans who are nice every week. We are social animals. You'd expect a bear alone in a cage for years to go mad - well I think so do we.
