Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Thank you. I am joining the Loneliness support group. I am more lonely then depressed. Even though I am depressed.
I don't know how to go about getting new non-cyber friends. Any ideas out there?
my best friends always seem to be the most fucked up individuals who dont do well around other people as well ive always tried to fit in to be like everyone else and have a reason to hang out with others things like smoking weed drinking doing graffit or drawing skateboarding i never really had any other way to kick it with people and nothing to do if i did unless i felt like i was helping some one and then it was out of simpathy and those people always stuck around cause i was nice to them and gave them respect even when no one else did i dont know where any of those people are anymore i dont know how i will ever make friends again the last person i made friends with was an asshole and i almost got into a physical fight and now im back to not having any friends i had a good friend come over yesterday but it was for the first time in like a month or two and i probly wont see that person again for a while what happend to every one i knew i had so many friends and none of them were really good people who i was really close to they were just people i kicked it with on a daily basis and i havent seen any of them for the longest no one hits me up to kick it anymore no one even says hi my really close freinds dont even say whats up or hows it going or even comment on my photos on facebook its fucking facebook like wtf
i would be perfectly fine with not having any friends if i wasnt feeling so depressed alone and hated but right about now is when you really need them and i dont have the courage to call some one up i havent seen in months and tell them how depressed scared and hopeless i feel cause no one wants to hear that
I still struggle with a lot of social anxiety...
And, like obsticle said, there's no one out there I can really talk to about MY concerns...they just wouldn't want to hear it.
It's just me and my hubby and my friends here on DS.
i have found, at least for me, that people shy away from me because of my disabilities...like i don't have money to spend travelling, going out to eat...so i'm out of the social circles now.
I talk to people and know people offline that would probably introduce me to other people as "their friend" but you know that means nothing if you don't have a real bond with the person. It's just a replacement for "acquaintance."
One of the last people I actually felt a friendship with has completely succumbed to all the negative qualities that made me stop talking to them for a year. It was good getting back in touch initially, but then I saw he had completely over the edge so now he's out.
My old true friends... too geographically far or just been out of each others' circle for so long I don't see myself being in touch with them ever again.
Pathetically, I have over 300 so-called friends on facebook. People I actually have met and know/knew. But I can't count even ONE that I am actually in contact with/can call a "friend."
So to answer yes I have lost FIRL BUT the real friends they are still there....

Theoretically, I have one offline friend left. I am unemployed and he is a successful businessman. I dare not call him more then once in a few months.
I do not want to use facebook -- no ananymity.
>> me interaction and communication again
I used to argue on English forums in '98 -- '06. Then I talked about politica on Russian forums. Unfortunately, there is no one with whom I can discuss my personal problems.
I don't really have online friends or offline friends.
