I feel alone, and the people around me don't genuinely care. I have resorted to making a facebook post to ask people for love. But that was temporary. People sent love, and then thought one time was enough. It was not. I am alone again, and the people in my space are mindless and neglectful. Please, help me, I don't know what to do or how to reach out for better and long term support.

I am so sorry you are having a hard time finding friends. This is a common issue for people here on DS. There is a lot I can say about it, but first lemme quote Lennon and McCartney

The best way to make friends here on DS is to be a friend. Follow posts, comment on ones that speak to you, or on ones where you feel you have something to say. Sometimes a simple "I am sorry for your issues, thinking of you" is really all that you need say.

So by all means, follow posts, read and reply, see what others are saying, and don't be afraid to put yourself out there. People are going to make you earn their trust and friendship, just like they are going to have to earn your trust and friendship.

Hello Anna , So sorry you are feeling just like I do . Can't for some reason access "about me' on member's sites so I only know what I have read on your post here . If you can access mine , please read it and you will clearly see why I feel so alone , also . In addition , even as an adult , I am extremely shy which makes matters worse . I feel that the few ppl in my life really don't care as much as I crave and this makes me feel needy , not an attractive trait . I would be thrilled to become a friend and try to help you through your hardest of times . I don't drive so I can't even venture out to be around others and because of some very scary and serious Chronic Pain problems , I have become somewhat reclusive , also adding to my sadness . I have been depressed a good part of my life and am afraid I am at a very low point now , especially due to an extreme disability . I would be more then happy to hear back from you , maybe in a personal message . I would like to hear about your life and struggles and perhaps my "company" and interest might even help some . I am a very loving and caring friend and consider myself to be quite loyal especially during the worst of times . I feel for you and hope I might help !!!

I'm sorry but facebook is not the place to make friends. people r so fake on there and so shallow. facebook is not allowed in my home. people on put up things they want to show off and impress people. you will find that facebook will depress you even more. I would stay off it. try to make friends here. I am 36 and I do not have any friends except for on here. you can talk to me anytime you need. I stay at home all day.

I agree with hopesmiles about fb! I have to be on so I can see pictures of my new grandson. There are some pages like "positively positive" and things like that you could like and have in your news feed, just avoid those friends who "have it all" because you will think your life means nothing, but it does :) Sending hugs xx

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies.
