growing up. how poor were you?

We were so poor that we lived in a two bedroom house with 7 people... luckily my alcoholic step father turned the garage into an extra bedroom.. His mother lived in a trailer in our back yard..

We would live off of ham and bean soup for weeks in the winter... There was one small bathroom with just a tub.... My brothers use to use my mothers douche bag to pretend like they were in the shower.... no shi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my mum used to get bag full of clothes from her friends, I loved it!!!

My parents are middle class people who like to pretend they are rich...Growing up they had a hot tub, grandfather clock and nice expensive jewelry. Somehow I always ended up with Goodwill clothes and used broken toys. I was never given anything new and over time I just got used to it. My parents put them self in so much debt with there own bullshit that's all they could afford for there kids. I feel grateful for them tho since being out of work they still help me out tremendously. I don't even want to know how much they owe in credit card debt :0

i grew up in mansions, with indoor pools and full bars and all that crap.
only thing i wasn't was loved. being adopted sucks.

So poor, used to ask mum "Can I please lick the bowl"? She said, "NO, flush like everyone else"!

(Yeah, I know - a tweaked Little Johnny joke).

Did have an outside 'dunny' though - until a HUGE tree uprooted, and smashed it. Lucky no one was in there.

Was hilarious watching the CAN (toilet can) man take the full one away (on his shoulder) trying to simultaneously shake our snappy dog off his leg!

We were comfortable, although my dad never let us enjoy HIS money. That was for HIS trips, HIS clothes.

So...whatever. My mom spoiled me and my dad never wanted me to have shit, so I suppose it all balances out LOL
