Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Hi everyone! My best friend invited me to go out drinking tonight. I have a new kitten and I hate to leave him but I could definitely go for my token 2 beers and bar food. I spend way too much time at home on the couch. Tomorrow morning, I have a second session with my new therapist. I am really hoping that she helps me turn my life around. We are going to be trying to complete the intake form. I felt really good after our first session. As I have said before, she mentioned mindfulness when we first spoke on the phone. Mindfulness came up on a thread about weight loss on Facebook. This girl did this therapy at a hospital as an out-patient. I never heard of it before. She has lost 80 pounds. She mentioned mindful eating. I said that I would eat my salad slow last night but my habit is to eat fast. So other than all of my mental and physical ailments that have me on total disability, my main problems for many years are weight, lack of desire to clean and no relationship for 26 years. As to my weight, I am not sure why I weigh so much. I know that part of the problem is being really inactive but for many years now, I only eat when I am hungry, I eat enough to satisfy me, I rarely feel full, I never overeat, I drink plenty of water. I would like to weigh 150. Yesterday I went to the dentist and had an exam and cleaning. My teeth were really stained from coffee. I am so happy that my teeth are white again. On a whim, I bought 6 months of a product that is supposed to make me look younger, give me energy, and tighten my skin. I actually thought I noticed a difference in my eyes yesterday when I went to have my glasses fixed. Anyway, this is long. I didn't mean to get on my soap box. Happy Friday!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
