Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Thanks for the responses on all my posts.
A small part of me wants to just check myself into a hospital and get help on a daily basis. But, I have responsibilities. I have a full time job and a dog to take care of. Despite how hard it is for me to function I somehow pull it together enough for work and for my dog. I don't even know who would take care of him if I checked into a hospital. I suppose my mom could come down but her and my dad are planning a vacation to California soon and she's done that twice before when I've been depressed other times. She lives 6 hours away. My sister is only 2 hours away but she has 2 kids, a full time job, and a husband to care for. I don't want to burden anyone.
Another part of me wants to ask for time off work and go stay with my parents for a while. I'm so tired of being all alone.
I have good friends who are trying to help but I often isolate and shut them out.
I see my doctor tomorrow. And my therapist on Wednesday. I'm seeking help. But there's so much time in between that I have time to stay in bed and let my depression worsen.
I have fallen so far, getting back up is so hard.
Is going into a hospital a good idea? I just don't know.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

But ask others who have been hospitalized and get their input. Good luck.
If you have a full time job with time off, maybe just take a few days or a week off to recharge. Take yourself on a vacation somewhere...doesn't have to be far, just something to change your surroundings and press your reset button.
