Mom wasn't able to see me on my birthday for the past 8 years, they lived in another country, but she would always post some sappy sweet thing on my facebook every year. It was the only facebook wish I looked forward to. She passed away in October, before I could have another holiday, mother's day, or either of our birthdays together and I'm having a really hard time knowing I won't get that again.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I don't know what it's Like and hope i don't have to know anytime soon. My heart goes out to you. If you need to talk I'm gladly here for you
DancingDolly92
Thank you. I know its hard at any age but when you're young with milestones in life you'd want your parents around for, it's hard to imagine those milestones without her there.

I understand. For what it's worth i will be there for those moments to help you celebrate, mourn, provide comfort, and talk just because. You aren't alone . i promise you that

Losing your Mom, I am sorry for your lost it is very hard. Try to reflect on the communication, you and your Mom shared, hold onto the memories. Perhaps writing your thoughts in a journal over the past 8 years, read, and re-read again, and again, as many times as you want,, Hopefully this will bring comfort especially when you are feeling sad and alone....

I am sorry for your loss. It's never easy to give up our loved ones, especially mom. Cherish the memories you had with her. She will always be alive in your heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

You will always have the memories of her. Nothing can take that away from you. I lost my dad twelve years ago. Whenever i get sad thinking about him, I think of him in his straw hat or a fun time we had in a vacation. They may be gone, but they live on in our memories and in our stories.

When my parents moved back last July, my brother and I took them to a Journey/Def Leppard concert. Whenever I think of her, I see how she looked at us during that concert, she was so happy and proud. I still keep the mock up of her funeral pamphlet on my desk at work and we got tattoos for her on her birthday in December.

That's an awesome tribute for sure. That is a fine memory to hold on to. She might not be there but she will alwaysbe with you and watching over you

Hi DancingDolly92, I'm sorry to hear about your mom. You sound like a wonderful daughter. Perhaps remembering some things about your relationship might help. My daughter in law just lost her mom and she immediately started writing, "things I learned from my mom" and she posted on facebook. It allowed many of us to see their relationship and also comment and perhaps add something we remembered about her mom. Would you consider trying something like that? blessings
DancingDolly92
That's actually a really cute idea. I might have to try that soon. Thank you HopeinGod1!

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...
