Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I don't have children of my own but I have grown up in a house with a daycare in it, so I have known a lot of parents. Every parent feels that way sometimes. It is fine to feel this way, maybe even have a few days where she stays with a friend or your husband takes care of her. In the end you love her and that's the part that matters.
I am so sorry you are having trouble with your husband. Can you guys go to therapy? A good therapist can help each of you talk to and listen to each other. It is easy to speculate about what is going on in his head, but what Demented said about your friend goes for you and your husband. Talking can really help, but it can be very scary too.
Gentle hugs, and best wishes.
I have a 19 year old daughter too (and a 14 year old son) and a marriage that shares in virtually all of your troubles in that arena too.
What is the level of care that your daughter requires? Is this 24/7 or do you have some ability to be away?
My husband and I have gone through some dry spells in our marriage. We started reading marriage books together, just for 5 or 10 minutes each morning before he leaves for work. We recently read As Long As We Both Shall Live by Gary Smalley.
