Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I just talked to a long time friend of my boyfriend and she went over my text messages to her about our relationship and showed me that my boyfriend has been taking a power stance over our relationship. I never stopped to see the pattern of whenever we would fight he would raise his voice everytime and start going on and on about how he's put everything into this relationship but I'm the one holding back, I'm the one who apparently doesnt trust him. In the end I'm sobbing and begging for forgiveness and after a few days of feeling horrible he forgives me. Then its only a matter of time till it happens again.
The problem is I have learned to love him dearly.......I dont know how to confront him without another session of him screaming at me and me crying.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

What you guys need is professional counselling from someone qualified to look at all the pieces and find out what is going on. Not a good friend, who is automatically on your side and to whom you give your unbridled 'side of the story'. Not people on the internet either. What I have learned is that you can describe all day and I'll get one picture over here - and if I see you and him together for three minutes I'll come out with that picture, over there.
There's no substitute for actually having the conversation with the counsellor.
So get a counsellor, get relationship therapy. It takes 2 to have a passive/agressive relationship. he has to learn not to wipe his feet on the mat that has to learn to get up off the floor. You both need to learn skills of expressing how you feel. Well: he is expressing how he feels, which is panic and desperation. And you're expressing how that makes you feel, which is panic and desperation... LOL. - but has either of you got a clue that that is what the other is expressing???
Neither of you is making it out of panic/escalation/stabilise/de-escalation/stabilise/panic zone, into looking at the issues and learning about them zone. You need to be growing as you have cycles - not staying on a cycle. Think spring, not keyring.
You both have to grow for this: you have to learn to be more assertive, and he has to learn that it's safe to let you express yourself and he won't immediately lose you. Look at the terms you use.
Are they threatening? When you have an issue is he receiving 'we're breaking up' signals when you are really only intending to give 'hey we have a wobble let's discuss it' signals?
Have you asked him, when he's not in the middle of a reactive cycle, how he sees what is going on?
And in the end the question becomes in a relationship; will they let you have this access to their thoughts, or not?
Show him this thread. See what he thinks.
Why are you texting your boyfriend's longterm friend? I would expect that to do that would completely undermine the foundation of the relationship. If he gets a whiff that you talk about him behind his back, then all bets are off. No way is a guy going to open himself up to a girlfriend who then talks out of school.
Your personal long term friend - sure, talk. His? Heck no.
