Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
school started and i only have 2 friends, i have other acquaintances that i say hi to in the hallways, but still i feel ashamed that im on my 3rd year of highschool and still dont have a lot of friends, i also feel ashamed about not being extroverted and social, i do have good body language, which is something i did research on to improve my social life since i have social anxiety, so i do appear very confident when im walking and sitting at my desk, and i can talk to a single person and have no anxiety at all, but if i am talking infront of my class room, i will literally get a panic attack, yesterday my english teacher forced everyone to introduce themselves and something they like, and i was literally having a panic attack as i was waiting for my turn, my heart was pounding so hard and other really bad symptoms and even after i spoke the anxiety lingered for about 15 more minutes, i cant speak infront of big crowds and my teacher also mentioned that everyone will be doing presentations later in the month, im trying really hard to prepare myself mentally and heal, but still i feel like a big loser for having social anxiety and not many friends

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Papa John's, Pizza Hut, Little Caesar's, or Domino's?

And I only had one friend at a time in high school. My husband had a lot of friends. He is outgoing, I am introverted. Sometimes I think men keep their friends or stick around with friends longer than women seem to. I have had more friends at times but the last say 15 years, I have lost more and more friends for various reasons. Some moved, and then I moved, some had mental health breakdowns, others started drinking heavily, and some even blew me off when I had some family problems that overwhelmed me. I am a grandmother and I have been working on making new friends for 3 years now. It is hard. Many people just want to do social media friends, FB and IG type stuff. This is not my idea of a friendship. My family members all have serious problems that make them difficult and unhappy and sometimes life is hard. Learning to cope with hard things in life is a good thing. Learning to endure the bad in life will serve you well as eventually a good part comes around again.
Good luck on this presentation stuff, I know you can do it. Try not to make it a catastrophe in advance or get so worried in advance. Remind yourself that you are fine and you will do well. I have confidence that a person who can write a thoughtful and moving post like you have can succeed at anything you try. The panic attacks can be overcome. Sending you big cyber hugs and best wishes.
