Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I'm trying to make the best of a very difficult situation but I feel so lost and alone and awful most of the time like now. I went out and worked in the yard, baked something, stretched out, cleaned, wrote an email to try to resolve a family issue (so far not response), read a book.. and now I am just sitting here feeling totally alone and ill and scared. My family isn't a family. They are a bunch of cruel strangers. And the cancer I was diagnosed with is always there, always on my mind. I try hard to keep going but I feel like ending my life right now. There's no way to put a good spin on this. I just can't. It's just all bad. There's so much more bad than good right now. I'm scared.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Given Covid is lifting, have you thought about travelling, is there a place you want to go. Right now, we have some wonderful friends helping my wife and me, but things vary, sometimes people who aren't as close and caring as we like, and we need to take it in stride. Sometimes family can surprise you, but you also have to be careful about having expectations too high. Hopefully your disease will get better.
Im sorry your going through a rough time. Both sides of my family are not really family. They only "Care" if i can do something for them aside from that they have no use for me so i just dumped them. (Not my parents but their extended families: aunts uncles cousins type situation).
I would say take some time for yourself but it looks like you are already trying that.
I hope it gets better Anna1212 :)
I am having a lonely day as well. I believe that many people who deal with
depression, can be very kind and sensitive. It can be hard when others
don't respond in a sensitive way.. I am not a religious person but am very
spiritual. Sending love and caring thoughts your way
