Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

It's been hard to find part time work. I really need something. I left my fulltime career as a classroom teacher in June, the career was just not going well. I was at it for almost two decades. It was just endless and constant problems, just uphill all of the time. In three of the jobs that I had over the past couple of decades there was serious sexual harassment, especially on the last one. I worked there for two years and it was just this constant living hell. The company would not do anything about him, and multiple people were complaining. It was terrible. He would be at my door early in the morning, just agitated, demanding, and with that crazy look in his eye. The guy seemed to have a real fixation on different women, and I was his particular flavor at that point. I worked really hard there. It was hard to get a reference when I left, but I did get one from a boss and co-worker, so that is two. I had my third from a former employer.
This new company seemed interested. They got back to me and asked me to bring in my employment verification documents, social security card, I9 and all that. I did. Usually you do this after the interview process and if you are going to start work. They said that they were checking the references. All of these people agreed to be references. I think one email I misspelled, so I got in touch with the guy and we updated it. Now, nothing. I really don't understand. It just seems like the door is closing on this awful career, which is probably a good thing. Nothing but problems.
I got offered a small position tutoring at the university. I'm not sure this will pay enough, but at least it's something. I was hoping for something more substantial. I guess I will just take it at the moment and go with the flow-it seems like the flow is going toward campus. I'm always down there. There is also the possibility that part of my tuition will be covered if I work for them. I'm scared, I'm not used to flying by the seat of my pants this way, and living like a college student, but here it is, that is what I am doing. I find it's best in life to go with the flow. Maybe it's a good thing this other thing isn't working out, sometimes you never know why things turn out the way that they do. I know one time there was this man I really wanted to go out with, and he was being weird. We did end up dating, and it turned out to be a disaster. It might have been better had we not gone out at all. I went forward with the sketchy situation that I was uncomfortable with and found out the reasons why. Sometimes there is a legitimate reason things fall through.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

An employee doesnt need to be a perfect fit. That will NEVER happen but get someone that can grow into the position and you will find yourself a winner.
Maybe the tutoring position will help you land a different position at the college. I can't remember if you were a k-12 teacher or college teacher.
Don't give up Mars it will happen :)
Keep looking for another job. Make sure your resume and online applications use the "key words" for the computer algorithm or don't bother applying. These computer algorithms are set to deny any application or resume that doesn't have certain key words or various perimeters. If you want more money than they want to pay, you are put in the deny pile. Good luck to you. It is not easy these days.
