Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I woke this morning before daylight and couldn't get back to sleep. This happens to me now and then and every time is the same. I get into this state of anxiety that just tortures me. Getting out of bed doesn't help; its the being alone in the dark of night/early morning that bothers me. I'm not afraid of the dark. It just seems that's when the demons come out and torture me. SO says he has a monster under his bed, I say its gremlins pciking at my brain, whatever you call it it feels horrible and I need a way to make it stop. I've tried writing a journal but it distresses me all over again.
When this happens I stress out about every little thing, blow things out of porportion, make non-issues into issues and generally feel extreme anxiety/fear/stress/insecurity over things that don't bother me normally. Lots of times I cry uncontollably but I'm just as likely to just huddle in bed in fear (of what I don't know). This doesn't happen when SO is here, I just snuggle up to him and go back to sleep. And it doesn't happen every morning when he's not here just randomly.
Well this weekend wasn't really random. I'm alone in the house which is very unusual so I am more vulnerable than normal. I need people around me; I don't cope well with being alone so it didn't surprise me this morning. I finally fell asleep and woke when the sun was up and I'm ok now... not great but ok. I know the kids will be back today so I won't be alone tonight.
Does anyone else experience this? If so how do you deal with it?

Sorry to hear this. I don't do well when it is dark out. I'm also not afraid of the dark. I'm here if you want to talk.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
