Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

But I've met the most amazing people on here, I'm in the process of meeting a few face to face. and I met my best friend here, we're now best friends in real life :D
im still messed up, but now i have some osrt of support network to help me when i feel myself falling, which ive never had before :-)

anyone else???? responses??
i joined DS about a month ago...i was sad, lonely, and didn't care about anything...not even myself...my fiance and family, kept asking me what was wrong, but i didn't know, all i knew was that i was sick, but i didn't know what was wrong...so being the ANALytical person that i am, i started to do some research...and everything kept saying that i was depressed...but i denied it...i'm not depressed, i have no reason to be depressed, its got to be something else, i just don't know what....well one day i came across a poem that was written by someone on here and it described the exact way i felt...so i ANALyzed this site some more (actually for 3 months) and decided that although i wasn't depressed, it couldn't hurt to register and find out what happens...it couldn't get any worse...right? ..well i joined and needless to say it didn't get worse...i just found people who were in a much darker place than i was...and people who felt the same way i felt...and people who felt a little bit better than me...but the amazing thing was that they all were will to help me...and i didn't need to do anything....except maybe give a few little hugs....i could do that...and listen a little...i'm real good at that...i don't think that what i have to say is all that worthwhile...so i'll just listen and give my objective opinion...and that's what i did...
two of my most memorable people here on DS are 'shatteredtrust' and 'mummymartin'...i have hugged and listened and prayed for and hugged some more because there stories for whatever reason just hit to close to home...and i know that they are loved and valued and needed so much more than they think they are...
so yeah, i came here feeling like crap...and now a month later...i feel a little better because i was helped and i have hopefully helped someone...i'm not 100% better, but i' m getting there slowly but surely...one day at a time!!!...
oh..by the way...before DS...i had tried MySpace...and that just didn't work...guess I am too old...LOL...my only friend on my space is good ole TOM...LOL...anyway, who needs MySpace...i got DailyStrength :)....and i got friends here too...!!!!!
Thanks Everyone!!!....

I have found TONS of support here, and it's so VERY nice to be able to communicate with people who understand, and have beenwhere I was.
I have been getting better and better with the help of Wellbutrin, and a much better positive attitude, and being proactive in my own recovery has been key. I use the goal setting feature here to help me hold myself accountable.
My friends here show me so much love and make me feel so good, and I love being able to be a positive influence for others as well. I love this place. Thanks for the nice post.
