Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
There isn't much advice I can give but I wanted to reply to your post in the hope that it might make you feel less alone with what you are going through. Also to tell you that in my mind 'sorry' isn't needed if you are simply telling people how you are feeling.
I wish I could say more to help, I feel concerned about what seems to be guilt about feeling the way you did/do, guilt is a terrible demon, especially when it is unfounded.
One thing I have heard but perhaps will be helpful at a later stage is that ginger beer (non-alcoholic) is a good thing to drink if you have decided to stop drinking, I think because of its anti-nausea properties and also the way there's a slight burn reminiscent of alcohol.
I wish you luck with this and I hope you get all the support you need.
