Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
My OCD has really been going off the deep end, and I have been drinking as a way escape which in itself is dangerous. My panic disorder literally went away until I started drinking again, so obviously I need to find a way to break this cycle. I was fine with drinking for about 6 months, but then all of a sudden drinking has started to make me physically ill.
I feel nauseous and am shaking and I need to be at work in an hour. This has got to stop.
Although I've never been much of a drinker, I do have several other vices that I cannot control. So I do understand your situation.
I wish had the perfect answer for you, but I don't.
Please seek help if you feel you need it.
It does NOT sound stupid to set a goal for yourself to not drink for two weeks.
I wish you all the luck and strength in the world to achieve that goal Good Luck to you :-)
Good luck to you. And don't give up if you falter during the 2 weeks, just try again. I hope you can find the help and comfort you need.
Sometimes this means giving something up completely, other times we can manage them just fine by cutting back.
My guess is that you may need to give up drinking completely, but I only know what you have posted.

I've been searching, lately, too. But, I know that's not the answer. I have been working with my therapist about this.
I've seen people just hit a certain point where their bodies seem to almost start rejecting alcohol. Getting very sick after just a few drinks, blacking out after just a few drinks, hangovers after just a few drinks.
So it sounds similar, I guess, to me at least. Perhaps quitting altogether would be the healthiest thing for you, although I know that's scary as hell.
Hugs to you, and I hope these 2 weeks help you discover what a good next step would be.
Summer- That is just it. I used to have a high tolerance to alchohol and it seems like I just stopped having a tollerance overnight. I do have stomach problems and am on numerous medications, so it is just time for me to stop drinking.
I am REALLY feeling sick and anxious right now. I am also afraid that I just triggered my panic disorder again. That is the scariest thing for me right now.
Another big fear of mine is that I will go through withdrawal if I just stop drinking. All of this is just scaring me right now.
It's interesting that you describe all manor of horrible things that have happened because of using this drug - yet you still would even consider touching it again. That says a lot right there.
I hope when the 2 weeks is up you will take a look at how much better your life is when not using alcohol and make the best choice for yourself. Good Luck.
