Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

i dunno. i haven't dated for a very long time, but i think i should change my attitude. i think i'd like to meet another person with depression, so that i don't have to feel guilty for being sad all the time for no reason besides my illness.
is there a depression version of match.com?
any cute depressed women out there?

probably best to focus on positive common traits....Its hard to be depressed and if your at a real down point it probably best to wait and focus on making maybe new friends or finding things you enjoy for yourself. I am also depressed and trying to focus on me for once...feel better

What a great idea! If I was single I would definately be interested, although you might think I'm too old for you (I just turned 48!). There's no reason you should have to be alone just because you have depression and I think you have the right idea by looking for someone like yourself. I wish you the very best of luck in your search!

lol thanks for pimping me out peppersteddy. XP I think that finding someone that also has depression or something like it in their life that they must struggle with is a good person to find. Just make sure you actually like the person and have common interests and something to keep you together and happy besides just depression. It is really hard to find people who don't have to deal with something like depression or some chronic illness, that people just expect you to start feeling better from, who actually will be understanding that you are sad or in pain and can't magically make yourself all better just because it has been a while or you are on some meds for it or you have gone to the doctor.sorry just a small rant but it could be a good idea to find someone else who has gone or is going through similar problems and at least be their friend if not find someone to date. I sure as hell know I could always use another friend to get through all the shit.
