Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

There is a certain type and intensity of depression that comes on when you reach an advanced age,,for me I am 62 and bring that up at every opportunity that I can,,,I scream out to the world that I AM 62 ,,and what of it ,,,??...I was kicked out of my career after a neurological episode and rather than work with me,, I was thrown overboard,,,so much for age discrimination and the ADA ,,,
So... I have luckily reached the age where everything that is coming to me can kick in and I only need now make an ADJUSTMENT to my new life,,easier said then done I am afraid,,,I am single with no family and a couple of pretty close friends,,I survive as I can taking things ond day at a time. There are days that cycle during the month where I am feeling pretty horrible and do not want to face the world ,,,and after a time I am able to get on my feet, shower, throw on some clothes and face that flys in my face when I pass through my front door ,,,
I go to 12 step AA meeting just to maintain some human contact and perhaps learn a thing or two about how to survive during this transitional period without resorting to drugs or layed out on alcohol,,it gets pretty difficult at times, I have seen many many people just not make it or just give up trying ,,,,I am going to take this ride out to the end,,,or at least try,,
For me ,,,it is pretty useless to think what it would be like married,,and perhaps with some kids floating about ,,,well,,that is not the case for me ,,and it is not my present reality...if I can find some people on here to give the benefit of some of the things I have encountered over the years, I think that would be a good thing to do,,,

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Life is not fair.
I am happy you are on this site for what you can bring to the table.
