I recently told my friends about cutting and i found out that two of my friends also do it, but i'm scared of telling a therapist or someone because i'm scared of getting into trouble. I just want it to go away and my normal old life to come back but i just can't and now i'm really scared please help me. By the way i have RBD and the reason i cut is because of my OCD because i want it to go away and also because of family issues.

(never mind the calories, fat, or sugar content; just go with what you would pick if none of that mattered and whatever health issues you might have that would keep you from eating one in real life can be cast aside for this exercise as well... have at it!)

Please listen to people here. Therapists have heard it all. Unless you make them believe that your life is at immediate risk, they do not have to report you to any authority.
I learned from my friend that there are some coping methods that are not "obvious", but they can work. Not all will work for everybody, but you may be able to find some that work for you in therapy.
Gentle hugs
A Therapist will help you learn safe, healthy coping skills and behaviors to replace the self harm behavior. That's the goal. It takes work, you've got to change the way your brain works, you've got to deny it the first thing it runs to when it's not happy, and teach it there are other ways to deal with the "unhappiness". That's what a Therapist or Counselor will help you learn to do. They'll also help you deal with any trauma or issues you have going on that cause depression or anxiety in your life. They'll help you find ways to make your OCD less overbearing. Nothing about Treatment for an Emotional Health Illness is about Punishment, its about making sure your safe, and helping you find ways to get better.
I hope that you decide to do the right thing and get the help you need, I know it's not easy, as with most hard things, the first step is the hardest, then it's one step at a time. I'm a 28 yr. BiPolar also with OCD and have managed to keep up my treatment for 28 years and although at times it was really difficult, it was always worth it.
Hang in there and take care.
