I've been a member awhile but just don't login regularly. My depression and anxiety is not under control like it should be or has been. My step daughter (18) knows my buttons and takes joy some days in jumping up and down on them like a trampoline! She and I are both in college and ride together, 45 miles each way, oh joy on the days she is acting out. Unfortunately she is bipolar, so part of it is disorder, part immaturity, some step family issues.
I'm tired of her screaming, silent treatment, cussing me out, the world revolves around me attitude and then turn around and hug on me acting like I'm her best friend.
I've started having crying spells, indigestion, chest tightness and would love to sleep all day.
I think I'm going to be logging in more often....

I am allergic to Sulfa drugs meaning that my throat will swell up so my Neurologist put me on Topamax. I was suffering from major loud whoosing noises and the topamax helped that but everyday I still hear those mainly between 6 - 12 pm. I am at my wits end and have not went...

Not too long ago, my daughter and I went through a very similar situation. I didn't have a good relationship with my "mother" so I didn't know if what my own daughter and I were going through was "normal"...........But after hearing from so many other mothers, I realize that there's a time in a daughter's life when they just seem to need a verbal punching bag. And we moms usually take on that roll.
My daughter and I are best friends now.......... Literally :-)
Hang in there. It will get better :-)
I visit here often but sometimes I find posting hard but I am learning so much from the responses of others
take deep breaths when dealing with your step daughter - this phase in her (your) life wont last for long and then you two can truly enjoy being in each others lives
