Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I told my boyfriend today that I was feeling really sad and I didn't know why. He didn't even acknowledge that I'd said anything. He went on about his new keyboard and mouse. And I know he read my message. It showed up as read.
We moved in together 3 weeks ago and he's been less than helpful. He forgets to take the garbage out every week even when I remind him the night before. I do all the cooking, cleaning, animal care, everything. All he has to do is take out the garbage and he doesn't. I don't like doing everything myself. I told him that. And to make matters worse, I have to initiate sex every time. And it's not even sex. It's oral. He doesn't ever touch me. It's always me making him feel good.
So I called Crisis Services today and cried to a crisis counsellor. She calmed me down and convinced me to go for a walk and a shower. It was good. I just wish I had some support in my own home. My boyfriend acts like depression is no big deal.

I am suffering from the inability to cope with ordinary every day things. From my housework to watching tv or reading a book. I get palpatations, nervousness, at the moment my heart is palpatating and all I am doing is typing this. I am so scared its silly, I just want to stay in bed and just get up for meals and coffee. Not that that is going to happen. At the moment I have my daughter...
Sounds like you need to sit down and have a talk with him. Remember guys communicate way different than girls. He may not know how you're feeling. Try talking to him but keep it as low key and non emotional as you can. Don't say things like You don't ever or You always... he'll probably tune you out. Just calmly tell him that your mood has been sad, you're not sure why. Ask him for a little help with the chores...maybe you can do them together.
My husband (2nd one) is so sweet but he has two sisters and he was real close to his mom. He actually likes to talk about feelings and all that but I don't!
I hope you are feeling better. I know how it is to feel low. I have lots of sympathy for anyone going through it!
Give him the old heave ho. He's absolutely loving this. Why are you doing this to yourself? Don't feed the troll!
Give this giant parasite the kick.
