I thought we could have a thread where we could chat about the storm, check in on each other, or just chat about anything really while we are snowed in.
Who is in an area getting snow this weekend?
They are calling for 18-24 inches where I live. I'm scared to go through this storm alone!

Well, I am in N.Y. The streets are being closed at 2:30 and the subway system at 4:00. They mentioned a possible 36 inches of snow. :-( What will I be doing to keep busy? I'll be packing still. Oh joy. :-/ I'm moving on February 20th. What fun. :-(

So far it's been a few inches here, supposed to be up to a foot or so last I remember. I can't really shovel snow because of my back so I guess I'm going to be stuck for a little while. My parents are up there in age too so this is going to be a difficult time for us I guess.

Thanks BlueYonderDreams for the nice comments about my folks and Monty. I appreciate that! Well I thought I would sit around and do nothing today but I got ambitious and while the rest of my neighbors stayed inside riding out the storm I grabbed my snow shovel and spent a good part of the day digging out my car while the blizzard was still going strong. It's 8:00pm here now and the snow looks like it's coming to an end. A little touch up tomorrow and I will be good to go! The winds are still strong however and my parents, my daughter and my cousins are all without power. In fact the main road coming into town where all the stores, gas stations and restaurants are with out power. The electric company said they are not sending out crews to make the repairs until the storm is over it's just to dangerous for the crews to work under these conditions. I have power the only thing that happened to me is I lost my data connection on my phone no big deal really. I hope everyone else made out ok through the storm.

You're welcome, johnnyboy. I am glad you still have your power. I hope your family won't be without power for too long. I am so grateful my power stayed on. I was the only one around here to do some shoveling, too.

Many of you know Mr K told me to "shut your mouth" in March 2025 when we took a road trip to Alpena Michigan. Since that time, we have had lots of ups and downs but I have never intentionally hurt Mr K in anyway. And when we first started dating in 2024 he let me know, although he is an engineer by degree, he has an extremely low EQ. Overall, he is ok (not off the charts nice like other guys in...
