I live in Los Angeles, and we get snow maybe once every 30 or 40 years. (Well, one could argue that what we actually get is hail, but that is another story!)

We do get earthquakes, and we get no warning about those!

I feel for all of you, and my prayers are that you all weather the storm well, warm, and well fed!

I live in Fl. so won't be affected by the storm. I will be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. My family lives on the east coast. We are getting record cold though. Stay safe and stay warm.

Were getting different reports here in New Jersey but I understand the storm has the potential to drop 2 feet of snow on us. Right now it's snowing in Cape May New Jersey which is the bottom tip of Jersey and is working it's way north from there. I'm about 2 hours north of Cape May so we should start seeing snow around midnight I think. The worst part is going to be the expected high winds and flooding along the Jersey coast line because high tide will be tonight as well. Sorry you have to whether the storm alone if you have any flashlights in the house gather them up and keep them handy they are saying there may be power failures as well. The worst part for me will be shoveling out when it is finished!

I live in St. Louis so we are not supposed to be included in this big storm i don't think. It snowed here a little 2 day's ago, but nothing like a blizzard. May you all stay safe threw this bad weather if you are effected.

You are never alone sweety, no matter how much you might think you are, you are not. For one thing you have all of us here on DS to keep you company, and give you warm huggs. And even if your net is cut off, if you absolutely have to, you can use your phone minutes to connect with us on DS. And if that fails too, then always remember you have angels around you keeping you safe and also giving you warm huggs hehe. :)

I live in New York and we are getting hit supposedly early tomorrow morning. But then some reports say it might hit tonight. The amount of snow keeps changing, so we'll see.

I'm in NJ and we are suppose to get 12-18, they upgraded it earlier today. Guess I'll be shoveling out on Sunday! Stay safe everybody.

What are you guys doing to keep busy through the storm? I see on social media that a lot of people are buying alcohol haha.

Hey sweetie. We were at the front end of it. We got about 6 inches of snow ( I posted pics ofcourse) , which we haven't gotten since 2003! I love looking at it from the window of my warm house.. cause even though I love snow I hate cold weather! It's 24 degrees right now. I do know it's moving up the Northeast Coast. I hope if it comes your way, you stay safe.. Luckily, me and my husband don't have to get out, so we're in for the weekend. You know what I'll be doing Sunday for sure. Watching football! It's supposed to get up in the mid 40's by Monday and by Friday back to the 50's.

I'll tell ya though, Nashville pretty much shut down. We aren't used to this stuff and so many wrecks and closed down interstates... I'm one of those who wouldn't get on the roads which is a good thing.

18-24 inches? Yikes.. please stay in and stay warm and safe.

Six inches of snow is nice. Enough to enjoy it, but not enough to kill someone shoveling it lol. Wow it's not much warmer there than it is here. It's 21 degrees. We've pretty much been warned to stay in all weekend. I wonder how people who have to work such as nurses handle conditions like these. It's scary! I won't get to see my mom this weekend so I am sad about that.

Me I won't be doing anything except hangout with my dog and three cats. I did have 2 dogs but one past away last November still trying to get used to the idea that he is gone. I'll probably call my parents they only live about ten minutes away from me. My younger brother lives with them so he will shovel them out. My parents are getting up in years and my mom's health is failing I worry about them all the time. I wouldn't have made this far if it wasn't for them, they are absolutely my best friends. I pray your mom gets better and comes home soon. I don't use social media I never really got the hang of it and I haven't had a drink in years. But I could make do with a bottle of Baileys Irish Cream right about now lol.

I'm in Virginia and they're calling for around 24 inches in my area.
I went out in it today to get gas for my generator and it was very slippery . Not doing that again. The 40 mph winds [coming overnight and tomorrow] have me as concerned as the snow.

I don't drink but I'm thinking now would be a good time to start.

I'm in Northern Indiana and we have not had any serious snow since the one snow we got in November.

I'm in North Carolina, we got a couple inches of snow, but lots and lots of ice. There are major power outages throughout the state. I feel very fortunate that we still have power, thank goodness! I've lived through one too many ice storms, the last we lost power for over a week!

Thank you, johnnyboy. That's so awesome your parents are your best friends. :) I am sorry you lost a dog. It's always tough losing a beloved pet.
