Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

So I have been avoiding friends for a really long time now. I am not sure why. It is probably something that I should unpack more in therapy, I've been doing a lot of work in therapy.
I'm not sure exactly what happened or where I was put off/turned off. I think it was around the time just before the pandemic and then going into it that, and even slightly before, that I was beginning to feel weird about the relationships with my friends. It just seemed like things were getting more and more negative. When lockdown started, it really got intense. The zoom meetings became the focus of anger and rage.
Since we are back into life as normal for the most part, there are still problems. One of our friends is super controlling, likes to argue, and starts drama. Another one just feels controlling to me. I have backed off so much that it feels very distant. After one of the zoom meetings where I was crying, one of our friends sent me like a several paragraph explanation of all of her problems in her life in response. I just felt so invalidated and disregarded, as well as overwhelmed. And though I like her, I've been avoiding her since then.
A lot of hangouts over the past year have been pretty negative. The last time I went hiking my friend was complaining that I didn't even get out of my car fast enough. It's like it's impossible. I really prefer to hang out with people in which it's easygoing, like it isn't work or pulling teeth. I just don't know what to think.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

If people cause issues thats on them, gratitude says I’m glad I’m not like that!
Me though? Since no one asked and I don’t have friends… I didn’t have friends before Covid. I was already deep into isolation… mostly mentally and emotionally… I Always feel alone around everyone. Anyway. Then the apocalypse happened….. I almost found hope once during the end of the world… but then my heart was broken and she ghosted my little sad and dead world.
When people talk about how different their life was during and after all of that… mine never really changed. I already avoided everyone. Please don’t make eye contact. I’m used to people walking in a big zig zag around me.
I think the saddest part… and oh how I love sadness… was how Covid made me realize It’s profits over people. Literally. Cause throwing around literally is fun and cliche.
I can’t have friends because they would feel too down. But don’t be like me. I’m working on slowly being dead soon. Of natural causes. Like smoking. Don’t give up hope. Oh im sorry I’m way off you’re not aiming down like me.
Keep aiming up. Godspeed stranger.
