im in tha process got denied first time i got a lawyer now and ive been in tha hospital 9 times for suicide attempts in tha past,to get help really but they are in tha books as suicide attempts they always deny first time appeal it!!!!half my family is on it took em bout 2 years but they all got it after appealing they want to weed out the peeps who really need and want it

My husband has been on disability for over ten years do to severe depression.
When we first applied his therapist told us not to get our hopes up, that people often had to reapply several times before it was granted so we were really shocked when he had his first check in about three months.
At first he had to have reviews every couple of years but he hasn't had one for quite a long time now and at this point I don't worry about it since he now has alzheimers on top of the depression.

Hi! I receive ssd and i got it the first time I applied which doesnt happen for most people. Your doctor and or councelor will have to fill out paper work listing your symptoms and diagnosis. It is a big relief to get ssd since i cant work. Its hard to work when some days you cant even do the basics.

yes i have i have disabillty pay derpresion and Anexity, it took a long time but when you have doctors and proffesonal to back you up with sick notes and examtionas they can not really question it , but yeah you can apply but try and get lots of back up

I have been of work not getting paid for a while and they are kind of forcing me to go back now as a need the money. How do you get on disability? and does it cover mortgage bills etc??

I'm in the prosess of getting disability & ssi right now. Hopefully, something good will happen to me for a change & I'll get approved the 1st time. I can't work & unemployment has run out & I have no income as of right now. August 10th my home was lost due to sheffif sale, so, I'm pretty much screwed. That's just the tip of my personal iceburg. Thank god for this website.... sometimes, it helps me cope just a little bit. --- Melissa

Yeah, one man bankrupted it for us all-- uhhh huh.... have yourself committed. Lots of people can't work because of "x" reason- that doesn't mean the state should bare the burden- except in my case where the cause is not to help my disease, but rather to spread theirs- by bankrupting the systems that by and large perpetuate it. Word.
