Yes me too. I have started meditation more so to relax and calm me than for anything else. It does seem to work if anhyone else is interested I could post a couple of links from youtube of the ones I use if anyone wants. I will watch tv until at least 1 in the morning can't just lie in bed ...racing thoughts won't allow me to sleep if I just crawl into bed. I need to fall asleep to the tv. I know...very bad habit.

I too only have one close friend, who oddly enough - or maybe not so odd, is also very introverted. I moved around a lot growing up (every year and sometimes twice a year). My dad would quit or get fired and we'd move. Now with my husband in the military at least I only move every three years or so lol. I have a very hard time making and/or keeping friends. Part of it I think is because I know/expect that they won't be there in the relative future cause we'll move - so why try? Part of it is because, at least I think, because I don't gossip, and I don't volunteer much about myself. I'm very reserved in that aspect - people don't need to know everything I'm thinking or my life story necessarily. I think people are put off by the fact that I don't gossip, almost like they think they can't trust me because I don't share all the details of my life with them. I don't know. I'm an introvert and honestly 90% of the time I'd rather not be around people. I find social events awkward and stressful having to make small talk and pretend I'm interested in what people I hardly know have to say. I've lived in big cities, towns, and what could barely be called a village and I've had the exact same issue with making friends in every location. The only common denominator...is me.
Anyhow, what I'm trying to say through all my rambling is I understand the whole friendless thing.

Well-stocked here, both in my so-called real world, and here in the community. I am learning that I love my friends more, but I NEED them less. And that really makes a HUGE difference.

I dont have friends in rl didnt need peoples on the street but know living in a thing called a house find my self alone i still have my puppy but she cant talk ta me i dont have friends in rl cause every one thinks there somthing wrong with me cuz i stutter hen i talk so i gaved up trying ta make friends but i love this internet stuff very fun an no one can tell that i stutter so i any one wants ta be friends add me

I think you are right cypressmoon. Small town women do seem much more caddy and mean. I've learned that in a few small towns. Someone told me once that it's none of my business what other people think of me. I think the reason they told me that is because when we care that much about what people think of us, it's saying that we don't care enough about ourselves and we should count first.

I'm with Bob, I don't 'need' people like I used to. But I love my friends. I am not a very outgoing person but have a few friends I'm comfortable with.

I have several pets and really pour my love into them. I tell people my cat is my best friend. I enjoy the simplicity of the unconditional love offered by animals.

Yes short on friends and especially ones i trust dont have one that I consier a true friend at all at this point i have very few people in my life and sad thing is i try to push away at my family it seems they all die. i hear this thing about supportive husbands huh whats that mine isnt wvwn supportive with my liver n kidney issue been hospitalized 4 times and he has not been there once

I have a rare kidney liver disorder and due to all the stress last few yrs my health has went to shit and at this point i dont care enough to care for myself lost my brother then dog got stolen in two days i havent recovered from my sisters death and marriage is going down hill the reason i am up so early is my husband called at 3 am to let me know he was done partying and gambling and he was going to bed like really u called and woke me up to tell me that im lost and i know my parents wont handle me commiting suicide wont be good on them but i have lost the desire to fight anymore

I lost all my friends because they didn't like my ex!! They wanted me to leave him and stay away but I kept going back. I feel like they punished me for going back by not being my friends anymore. Oh well I want to make new friends and keep them this time! I have a couple close friends but we hardly talk anymore. One friend took advantage of me when the chips were down so I didn't appreciate that and we haven't talked since the beginning of last summer when they came and stayed and used me and my house and my little bit of money and didnt pay me back like they said and I told them to leave because I can't support all of them (4 of them with the kids) and they got mad at me and left, stole some of my tools too and for some reason peelers and that was the end of that friendship and we were friends for years. I can't be a doormat though. With friends like that who needs enemies? They knew i'm a single mom on limited income and they borrowed $120 dollars for gas while here promising to pay me back but stiffed me in the end. Years ago too they borrowed money 3000 dollars and never paid me back and I had already let that go... but i told her I cant do that anymore...then she stiffed me... the end....

It is very difficult being without friends and I can relate to so many here . For years I have had no friends and am quite lonely often. I'm married and even though we get along well, my husband and I are not very compatible when it comes to sharing interests.We share three lovely young daughters. In my youth, my dearest friend was actually my grandmother but she passed away seven years ago. All though I would like to be a more sociable person, I have a hearing impairment that requires me to wear hearing aids. Even with the aids, my hearing is still not that great so conversations have always been tough for me. I tend to miss a lot of what is being said and feel to embarrassed to ask for repeats about what has been said. And I am always worried that I will still not hear what has been said if it is repeated. In times when the information being given to me was crucial for me to know I would often have to deal with the embarrassment of asking for what was said to be repeated more then once. Being a mother of three brings large amounts of joy and stress and not having one close friend to share them with is so heartbreaking for me. Before my grandmother passed she and I would talk about EVERYTHING. Sitting out on the front porch of the home she and I lived in, we would start with one subject. After a few hours and dozens of subjects later we would try to figure out what the original topic was. Oh she was a great person and I miss her dreadfully. You know, I do try to get out, talk with other moms but I am always hindered by my hearing impairment. Coming to this site though, I feel as I have just made a whole roomful of friends. It's a lot less lonely feeling for me to have people who can relate to me and experience similar things and feelings And I can read what everyone says so no missing out on the conversation. Thanks for reading my post. I do have a question. I'm almost 34 years old but I get the biggest kick out watching Disney's Phineas and Ferb and am a huge fan. I would love to know someone who finds this kids cartoon as amusing I do. Anyone watch? You know, I felt pretty blue this morning, but now? Not so much. Thank you to everyone who shared.

I have 2 in this town: ( Lost many people in the last 8 years : ( we're all friends though aren't we? I feel very lonely sometimes too hun. Women don't gel with me because I'm a bit of a tomboy, but I want women friends!! I got so used to being alone I don't care anymore and people seem to like that. I'd love to have a girlie night : )
