I have been diagnosed as having "only depression" by my current psych, I was previously diagnosed as bipolar, but I don't think that fits me either cause I never had the highs or the spending or feeling on top of the world kind of thing, and so my current psych who has been very attentive, more than others thinks I only have depression.
But I have noticed that my aggression and anger is much higher than it seems to be with other depressed people. It seems that often people here want to take out horrible situations on themselves while I want to skin somebody else if I feel they are responsible for whatever is going on in my life. I go through the whole suicidle thing when I get so angry about not being able to control my own life.
Any thoughts on what I may have? Is it depression? is it something else? I've always been aggressive when I get angry. I've read about anger management, and I don't think that is the issue, my issue is wanting to have better control over my life, and anger is feeling the extreme unfairness that occurs when you look at how easily one person who is totally unqualified can get a position just cause they are male, or cause they came out of the right vagina, or have the right sperm donor for a father, and then compare that to others who have had to fight thier way through poverty and are 5 times more qualified then those who actually get the job.
Like Why can't I just sit back and say "oh it's just office politics" or some shit like that and be satisfied, cause I'm not satisfied, I am very angry about it and frustrated.

I got an email from Kohl's that I had a 40% off coupon for today and tomorrow only. It took me about an hour but I placed an order and got some great deals. I have been wanting a new dress. I like dressing up sometimes. My birthday is coming up and I have dinner plans at a nice restaurant. But, honestly, I'm a little out of control again. I went through this in the fall. I bought...

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? Let me share a little more: in my experience, when those who have tried to project a hidden agenda that is obviously not aligned with integrity and well-being, it's best to be firm and speak clearly from self-awareness and...

Channel the anger into something productive, like exercise, then try to see the funny in life. Yes, life isn't always fair, but if you look at it as ironic, maybe you'll be able to laugh about it. Then maybe you'll be more relaxed and pleasant. Then maybe good fortune will roll in your direction.
I don't know your personal situation, haven't read it, whatswrong19, but it sounds like you've had a lot of tough situations, a lot of bad hurt times.
Unfairness will piss anyone off. I'm considerably older than you and it makes me furious. Some co-workers at the office laughing their ass off, 3 of 'em congregating and shooting the shit for minutes and minutes, and I am busting my ass in an office doubling as a kitchen trying to help the clients, and they put me in charge of the clients on Medicare. & Medicare is very difficult to deal with when you are trying to settle a lawsuit !
I wish you the best.................
But I get angry, and yeah that prob does aleinate me, but then again, like my explosive friend next door, it keeps the "can you do me a favor" folks out of your doorway and people tread lightly when they want to use you or mistreat you in some way, so in some ways, yeah it can be helpful, and that is sad, cause that is not what I want in my playing field, the ability to scare the hell out of people cause i"m angry.
My other fear is that one day I will hurt someone, and that I would enjoy it, that is my fear, that I will turn into a monster if I don't get a hold of this in the right way. Thanks
gramy, ever find you can make all the sense in the world to others but can't seem to make it work for yourself? I get that way,
You know though, today, I felt like I was on the edge of a cliff of my own sanity from the grasping of my own pains when suddenly, in my face is someone hurting much more than me, on the edge of an even nastier cliff, was just suddenly there, looking at me for help
It can change your course, but I don't think for one minute that justifies anyone's pain, not for one minute (This note to God himself) but makes me step back and think...
I want to hurt those who hurt me, kinda natural, but then you see something else, where someone is really on the edge of that cliff of sanity,
Well anyway, just saying, maybe I'm not as far gone as I thought, as I was able to stop thinking about myself for a minute and try, try to help that person, maybe I will try harder in the future.
I understand youd like to have a name for what you have
but sometimes names are not important
weather youre diagnosed with depression or not
depression is a baggage of all kinds of negative things you carry with yourself and use during certain situations
as much as you use them they grow within and gets to a point that its impossible to believe that its possible to control yourself
just like you said , you cant control your anger
perhaps its not about controlling or dealing with it
but learning how to overcome it
because you can be able to control one , two times or even more but when you cant , it will strike with full force again
you let that anger develop in yourself
conciously or not
I know sometimes it gets to be scary
because I used to have a lot of anger myself
and there were times which I would stop and look at myself and the things I had done and get scared of how much of anger I had
you shouldnt feed your anger due to unfair things that happen out there with you or someone you really like , because its going to make you hate more and that will only bring you more down
I dont think youre completely frustrated because unfair things happen to you but also because your anger didnt solve it
and it never will
Think about it
and try to work on that
anger makes you weak over time
sadness is not the only element of depression
anger is part of it too
Clean up yourself man
and you will feel much better about yourself
and will feel much better to overcome any kind of obstacles out there , not with hate towards people but with the confidence to get your dreams done without bringing anyone down
Take care
