I myself am not angry with God. I'm angry with men's perversions of God's words and His purposes. I feel like my life is in alignment with what God wants for me, but that the church and church leaders put undue pressure and an expectation of unhealthy dependence and blind obedience on their followers. I feel this is the cause of depression for believers, a source of self loathing because of their "unrighteousness".

Yes, I have been angry with God. This is what the Bible explains how to deal with it.

John 4:23 "true worshipers will worship the Father in the spirit and in truth."

Spirit here is talking about human spirit, human heart inwardly with a true heart attitude; being honest with what is in your heart. Therefore, If you are angry with God that is a true emotion you are feeling.

Psalm 15:2 "The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, speaks the truth from their heart."

God delights in your true emotion. Bring your anger to Him and ask Him for wisdom in how to deal with it. He is your Father. Tell Him that you are angry with Him. Be honest! That's what pleases Him.

Exodus 22:27 "When you cry out to God He hears you, for He is a compassionate God."

Even in your anger His is compassionate towards you. He knows you are suffering with it and He wants to help you.

I know this, because some of the most intimate times I have had with God was when I was honest about being angry at Him and the circumstances in life. The result was a beautiful peace and deeper love towards Him.

I hope this helps. This world is a fallen world. What happens towards us is often due to a sin from another human. God cannot change the will of men, but he can help you through the brokenness you have due to them.

Hey Volcano, anger at God is perfectly OK. It really shows up when grief comes our way. I spoke with a Jewish friend one time, and she explained that they do not use intermediaries (priests, ministers, etcetera), but get in God's face when they choose. She cited several examples from the OT to back it up. I figure He is OK with His children getting mad at Him as we are turning to Him in our pain. Just my take.

When my son was killed in 2006, many people asked me if I was mad at God. I replied "No" but, I did ask why. God is big enough to handle our anger. He understands us better than we understand ourselves. Life is full of struggles, disappointment, pain and sadness because we live in a flawed society and a flawed world. There are many things that happen in life that we, as mortals, do not understand. Because we don't understand, we get frustrated and yes, sometimes we get mad because things did happen as we wanted them to.
In the bible, in Job. it says "Man is short of days and full of trouble". Life doesn't always seem fair to us but, we must continue and try to live our lives to glorify Him to the best of our ability.

I am a Christian and I have been angry at God. I think anger is a human emotion and God understands. To me, the key is not staying angry but learning to accept things that happen as God's will. Romans 8:28

I will say I do not understand why bad things happen to some people and not to others. Many people pray to God asking to help their problems, but I don't understand why He solves some and not the others. Don't get me wrong, I believe in God but I have never understood why some people have their prayers answered and some don't. It bothers me to hear, “ well God answered my prayers” then there are others who don't get the same results. It is like saying, “well God felt your problem was worth answering but yours wasn't”. Is this a reasonable question?
