Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I have people around me. But ALWAYS feel alone!! I am so tired of feeling this way. I have to keep EVERYTHING inside!! Nobody listens to me, nobody supports me, everyone is too busy for me. I am about ready to explode having to hold everything inside ALL THE TIME!! I am married and I love my husband very much. I know he loves me. But he is married to his job. He eats breaths and sleeps work!! He interupts me to talk about work!! Have my 78 year old father living with us now. He usually will go to warmer climate for winter but not sure he will be going anywhere this year. He and I are close, but I just dont think I am cut out for having him live here!! I was not raised by him and was molested by my moms husband as a child. I know I have issues pertaining to that when it comes to my dad. Suppose I am venting here nobody understands!!!

Father. It is a bit brutal, but tell him he has to move out.

Not that you are not welcome here.
your situation.
I admire that you're taking care of your dad--would a good talk with him help?
In any even, glad you checked in
At 80, is your father still active? Perhaps there are senior daycares around or even a coffee shop he might like to visit? Some schools have programs where seniors can read to children, etc, etc, etc.
Likewise, perhaps you can get out of the house to one or two weekly activities?
You never know until you look what supports might be out there.
Plus, if you plan on taking care of your father long-term when he does become feable, learning what resources are out there and making contacts now...might be a good thing?
In any case, venting is a great way of coping.
Wishing you the best, Patti
