My husband won’t stop drinking and I just want to end all the pain. I try and you, but he has hurt me so much, it has pushed me to have depresión. As I sit here and he is drunk and disrespecting me left and right... All I want to do is end my life. I can’t do this anymore.

I'm sorry about your situation. Your husband is drinking excessively. Then, he disrespects you while you care about his health. Then, he hurts you. Please call the police if he ever hurts you again. You're a caring person who doesn't deserve to be treated that way. If you can, keep trying to convince him to get help. Overall, don't beat yourself up. From what I have read, it's not your fault. Please see a professional for your depression if you can. I hope this helped

Alcoholism is a terrible thing. I am very sorry you are having to deal with this. The only way and alcoholic can recover is to admit they have a problem and seek help. It has to come from inside a person. I was once and alcoholic myself and thank God, I have been drug and alcohol free for 45 yrs. this coming Sept. Alcoholism not only affects the person, it affects everyone around them and, when dealing with anyone under the influence of alcohol is difficult because you aren't dealing with a rational person. You are dealing with the alcohol's affect on and in that person.

Leaving him and giving the ultimatum of returning if he quits drinking. As for his bullying abusive ways. That is why you need to leave. My more manic less rational side would love for me to offer him a few outdoors and rather physical lessons on how to treat one's spouse. But that isn't legal. And seriously you need less of that kind of thing to deal with. Abusers and bullies are a personal trigger for me. Please just leave him with or without the ultimatum.

I'm so sorry you are going thru this. I would agree that counseling for yourself would be of benefit. If you are being abused, I would suggest leaving immediately for your safety. If your husband is willing to get help, there are treatment options. A helpful resource is Lighthouse Network. They can help in finding a recovery facility in your area. All the best to you. I will be praying for you both.

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...
