Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
cause, like the rest of us, fear of failure or social anxiety or lots of other things we suffer are just too much to handle....
It's my experience so far that most people with BP or depression are highly intelligent sensitive people... and in the world today there isn't much room for those kinds of people...
so i guess what I am saying is.... you can take all the meds in the world go to 1000 therapist, whatever.... it doesn't really completely stop what we go through... so you have to choose... and it's so hard.. I don't know how other people do it.
Anyways, I know you been around here a long time, so this probably doesn't help much.... but in AA and NA when i thought I was an alchoholic/drug addict, before I discovered this damn disorder was really the underlying cause.... their thing was fake it till you make it... and as much as I hate that, sometimes that's what you gotta do... I just can't somehow
Working from home would be worse, knowing myself as I do. I most decidedly do not like my job, except when I do. I am, by and large, bored to tears of it. I have been working in the same place for 27 years. I am in a golden noose. I am paid too much to quit, my experience will not transfer easily to another job, and we need my income desperately to survive.
Ummmm, do you have outside counseling, I managed to get about 3 more years of working when I went for out patient therapy for a couple of weeks.
I still don't know to this day if it was my depression or them really being asswholes. Probably, a little of both. I don't do well under pressure, change, or with authority fiqures.
