Can someone be addicted to pain killers if they stay within the prescribed doseage?? I'm finding I can't cope without taking them. I feel I'm becoming a drug addict. I've tried taking half the dose but my bone pain is too sever and I end up taking the full dose in the end. I've also had times where a full dose isn't enough and taken more than I should have...but I've since stopped that practice when I ran short and had a week of hell with no relief.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

This might not sound like it will help but there are pain meditation videos on YouTube. Whenever I get a headache or migraine it does the trick (sometimes in combination with a normal dose of ibuprofen).
I can only think of some questions to ask.
Is your pain related to an injury or surgical procedure, and is your pain expected to lessen after a period of time?
Look up symptoms of withdrawal from the med you are taking; do you experience any of those symptoms when you try to taper down on your pain meds?
Please talk to your doctor about this!
You don't say what you are taking but if it's vicodin, percoset, or oxycodone, the withdrawals will be 3 or more days of feeling like you have the worst case of the flu, you have ever had in your life.
Are you taking anything for depression? People with undiagnosed depression will often self medicate with the pain killers. If you are on antidepressant medication and it is not helping then you need to talk to your doctor and he will either increase the dose or try something different. Prescribing antidepressants is not an exact science, often doctors have to try different ones at different dosages to see what will work and what won't.
Also, If your pain meds are not helping with pain then you need to tell your doctor and he may increase the dose or try something different. Never self medicate! That just pisses off doctors! Just a phone call to let dr know what is going on is all you need to do. No need to spend extra money to go see him.
I could say more but you leave alot of information out so, If you have any more questions, don't be afraid to ask, I am here to help!
God Bless!
Black hawk, watch yourself there bud as I have been that route and it was a tuffy when I actually decided to toss the drugs and enjoy the pain. Most massive MKUTRA in the world I did to myself...I think I could have given the CIA some pointers at that time.
