Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Can you focus on what is bothering you and solutions to those issues when you talk to them?
Gentle hugs
I agree with the others, you should get some help and the hospital seems to be the best option. I personally have never told anyone about my plans and my letters but I have kept 3 letters and one plan. I have read them over and over again and about half way through it I start to cry. Thats when I wonder why I feel that way, why I want to die and realize that I need to get help. I haven't been able to find any because my family doesn't know anything and they will most likely be in denial if I tell them. I need help and soon enough I'll be able to get it. I suggest, like everyone has already suggested, to go to the hospital, I've heard good things about people going when they are feeling that way. They come out stronger and wanting to fight. Take a chance and get the help you deserve.
We all have plans. We all know how we'd do it.
The question is: will we? Are we really, when push actually comes to shove,... that ... bloody ...
dumb?
you get one life. One. Depression doesn't have to get you down. LOL OMG that was funny. but it doesnt.
you don't have to be sucked in by it. You are allowed to say to yourself :bugger, here come the bloody chemicals again, batten down the hatches, we're in for a big one' and then just use damage control for the week or so that you have it... and the come out and view the wreckage.
After a few years you get good at it. You don't have any wreckage. When you stop having wreckage the depression reduces because the powerlessness reduces.
Depression is actually all about perceived powerlessness. I say perceived because we lock ourselves into things through our own sheer stupidity. Where our 'moral rules' won't allow us to live in a way that means we actually win. Well bugger that. Evolve your morality to fit reality. Adapt.
Watch zombie movies. I swear they are the best thing for depression. Refuse to be powerless. And just remember: you get the one life. Just the one. You can waste a lot of it stuck in a box. But you won't get any of it back.
I still don't really care and have completely lost the will to live...
And...I have an appointment with my therapist on Thursday...
Okay folks, that.is.all. for now...talk to y'all later.
Well?
The reality is that if you were really suicidal you'd be dead. You're not dead, therefore you do actually want to live. You're just discouraged.
Suicidal thoughts came to me, full time, for over a year. Think about it. A year. I was lucky. This was the second time this had happened to me and on the first go round I had learned that I don't have to believe what I'm being told. Brain is thick. If brain can't find a way out of the hole I'm in, brain, so intelligent that it is, will come up with a solution anyway. Kill self.
That's what brains do if you don't beat them regular. they say 'kill yourself' when they can't think of any other way of solving their problems.
So you can withstand suicidal feelings. Now that you know you actually do want to live, you can say 'what is this problem that my brain can't find a solution to?"
And look around at your life. How's your life? What's it doing? What's intolerable to you that you cannot figure out how to change?
Change it! Fix it. And then see how suicidal you are. :)
