I am sorry for your loss.
One of my grandmothers was a nurse, and I adored her. At a young age, when one of my aunts died, she explained to me that sometimes death is a blessing considering how worn out the body is (great wording for me when I was about 10). That helped me understand that life changes, that nobody lives for ever.
I try to cherish the memories of them. I also believe in God, so in a way I can tell myself that death is not good by for ever, it is until we are reunited.
Think of your heart as a hotel for love; as some move out you make way for new ones. True, you will never be able to get another grandfather, but a new child in the family can be such a joy, or a friend that turns into somebody special, etc.
I am sorry for your loss, and hope that you find the relief and acceptance you seek.
