Ice passed away in February at 17yrs old. She collasped one day and that was it. I am still crying. I miss her so, so much.I miss the smell of her paws, playing with her scruffy beard, listening to her bark in her sleep, the way she nudges my hand with her nose during our walks. I see her everywhere. In my car, at the door, under my desk, the neighborhood. I want to hold her and kiss her so...

I lost my dog last July to cancer, as some of you might remember. It was devastating and I got very depressed, but through treatment I got back to "my normal" last month. I've been poking around the rescue sites to adopt a dog and I've seen a few since July and I visited them but decided I wasn't ready. I actually adopted one in September but realized I was too depressed and it was a mistake so I...

ECTs saved my life. do i want to have them again, no way. would i choose to have them again being in the bad way, absolutely.
Well I haven't had ECT but my Uncle has had ECT [Electroconvulsive therapy] - shock treatment for his major depression. What I have learned from my mother my uncles sister she said it's was a good idea to use ECT. Because my uncle was very depressed and he attempted suicide a number of times he was also violent towards others and needed a lot of help fast. After the treatments he was put on antidepressant medication and my mother had him placed in a halfway house care home. He had difficulties with memory which helped him forget the bad pass he had with his girl friend who ruined his life. But the good things it pretty much worked for him he is now living a better life. He decided to remain with the family who cared for him. He is doing things on his own and just living life. But because like everything you try to do there are risks and it gave him memory loss which was one of the main reasons why he received ECT to like block out those bad events in his life. So in my uncles case it worked for him. Hope that helps answer your question. But your doctor knows best what is good for you.
Everyone's different. I wish you the best!
