Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Have you looked into getting your ged? It doesn't usually take long if you work at it and would open the job market up for you some. Sometimes when I'm feeling overwhelmed I try to focus on the one or two things that I can do and in doing them it helps the whole situation.
hugs!
I would definitely recommend going for your GED. You are well spoken, smart; it should be very little trouble for you.
Would it be possible for you to work as an au pair? As a live in nanny, your room and board would be provided, plus you'd get a little extra cash on top of that. You won't get rich, but you will be housed and fed.
Best of luck -- my prayers go with you.
As said here.. Get your GED.. It will get you farther in life..Good luck
Can you bum a ride to the GED place? Among my daughter's friends there are very few cars. But they all bum rides from each other when needed. It is simply part of life in the real world.
As for being a burden where you are. You may be surprised. Your friend may be feeling very good about themselves that they are able to help you in your time of need. When we are down and in pain, it is often very difficult to believe that the helping hand we receive is not begrudged. As I've come out of my depression, I've been shocked to learn how much being able to help me, meant to my friends and family.
Could you bum a ride to get somewhere to volunteer your time? Maybe help out in a womans shelter or a homeless shelter? Maybe it would help make you feel better about whats going on in your life..
I know when I help others it gives me a few days relief from my overwhelming depression
I wish I could give you advice on this one. With all my experience with it, you'd think I'd have a clue. But I don't. All I can say is -- you are not alone.
Have you spoken w/ a doctor or been to one of the free clinics about any of this? It sounds like it is time to take that step. Please don't put it off, like I did, you'd be amazed what a little help can do for this vicious cycle you've found yourself in.
