I hardly noticed any difference after I recovered from the op. Others may be different.

I had mine out in 2012. I put off surgery as best as I could for fear of missing a moment in my son's senior year of marching band. That was a mistake. I worried for no reason. Surgery went well. I was back home the same day. I don't do well with the meds, not sure if it is antibiotics that they give or the meds to knock you out. But I was home with mild pain killers and wouldn't stay resting. I'm not a control freak but I'm a mom first and foremost and was determined to take care of my 3 kids. My doctor had no lifting restrictions for me even with my job requiring me to lift over 25 pounds and twist while doing it.

She will be fine and resuming normal activity in less than a week.

TY angel. Daughter is not really secretive, but she does not confide in me either. I have felt "something is wrong" since the beginning of the year When we would talk and I 'd ask she would say something like " have indigestion" or "I'm constipated"

Sunday I learned she has not been able to keep any thing down was in severe pain and had lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks. Her husband forced her into the car and took her to the emergency room.

Glad that she got help, but man, there is a time and a place to be stubborn.

That was neither!

I had a bad experance ..but had a stupid doctor ..who eventualy lost his licence .....and befor they ..had this nice little three tiney hole operation ..I got cut fron ..my in between my ribs to my Belles buttion .....now they only put three little holes. ...that take one or two stitches ..at most ...that is how they did my h .....I .....was poise end ..by all the bill that was infected ..that had backed up through out my sister ..needed a ..blood transfusion ....had a bag to ..let the ...bile ..come out ..for two and a half months ....a good month of antibiotics .......but again ..stupid doctor ........my h ..came home ..the next day ...just couldent life aney thing ..to heavy for a while and had no trouble .................some times you might find that there will be some foods that you won't digest well ...after ....but they tell you all you need to know .....you can keep your gallstones .....so you can see ..what they looked liked .................................my h was the normal case ..not mine .....I will say a prayer for her ..take care ..God bless ...

She has not had the surgery yet. At the emergency room they gave her a full battery of tests, and sent her home with 5 meds and told her to call back Monday morning and make an appointment with a gastrologist(?)

The meds, one was a painkiller , one for indigestion, one was an antibiotic. I don't know about the other two.

The antibiotic makes me think there might be an infection they want to clear up

Could be a pre-op prevention of infection. Dunno, .. not a doctor.

I thought about that too, Vet. I do know she has lost a lot of strength by just not being able to eat and keep anything down. And I know if I start drilling her she will clam up.

Might be best to 'hand it up to the doctor(s)' and have plenty of faith in their experience/expertise. I predict it will (routinely) go very well.

I talked with Daughter tonight. She said she is fekeling better and has been able to eat but she did not sound better to me. The words coming out of her mouth did not match the tone in her voice.

A mother knows.
