Sorry, that's a total douchebag thing to say. Perhaps the customer was having a bad day, perhaps they have 'issues' which make them lash out for no good reason. Not saying the customer is a douche, but the comment...definitey douchey.

That way of thinking got me through many, many, many years of customer service and retail work lol...it really does help calm down those flares of anger. Or sadness; whatever the customer triggers in you. Helps to remember that in order to make a comment like that to a complete stranger, one must be fairly effed up themselves.

That and pointing imaginary finger-guns at thier backs as they leave the store. Not that I've ever done that. Of course not :P

Ken went to a doctor that said that to him about one of his instruments. Of course Ken is not one to hold things in so he called the doctor out on it. the doctor just stood there with his mouth hanging open. He knew he did wrong.

I think that is a horrible thing to say to someone. Like Peppers said, it speaks volumes of the person saying it, but nothing of you. Don't let the jerk upset you. He is not even worth that, let alone his being worth his watch.

There are ass bite ppl all over who obsess over money as a validation to their continuing pathetic existence. That broken watch guy more than likely thinks his sperm is worth a whole bunch of money yet I bet he continually shoots his shit down the toilet...!

BUT, this is not the store where one has to adhere to the customer is always right rule, no this is DS ...SO vent away but know in your heart that at that point in time that your customer opened his mouth and spouted out the supposed 'value' of the broken watch just know that he set the bar and now you can know in your heart weather the next douche bag who walks up and says something stupider is actually just as ignorant.

I had to chuckle at that too doghunter. A person goes and pics out the most magnificent Rolex,, *choirs of angels singing* from all of his friends when he shows it to them. Then damn if it doesn't stop ticking. I'd lay cash he wears it anyway hoping no one asks the time. I'd stand next to him with some lesser worth jobbie with a battery any ol' time so he can ask me the time when his million dollar (artificial self worth symbol) busts cuz, I'd CARE that he needed to know the time. Because that's how nice I'd be to him anyway.
