Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

"...and we end up comparing ourselves to them."
Sometimes it seems the harder I try to 'fit in' the bigger the gap becomes...and there is where I seem so different since others seem to navigate all of that almost effortlessly.
I have joined groups on there about pets, (cats) which i enjoy, or a group which features my home town. what a nice group of folks there to share memories with. from different schools, sm towns, but we all share the memories as kids, our schools, etc.
Maybe joining a group on facebook, music there are many and not just scroll thru what seems to be all happy put together folks, (((and believe me they are not as you think as they appear to you. every one has struggles, it is an outlet for them also. just who is honest is the question.
Depending on the source, most of what I see on FB I take w/ a grain of salt.
For example, one person posts pics of their dogs and how much they love them, constant selfies, cute pic of the kids, etc...but I know them IRL and I know they barely pay attention to the dogs, their house is a damn mess b/c they're lazy, and the kids fight like cats and dogs and stopped to smile for a pic before they're right back to fighting.
Just remember a lot of what you see on FB and social media is ppl putting their best possible image out there.
When I was a member here years back, the tone of the board made me so depressed that I left. And there were a ton of trolls, esp on the weekends. So, I went to FB. But things seem much better here now.
