Hi everyone. For the past 2 weeks i have been sleeping a lot. Me and my family are caring for a paralyzied dog (he's been paralized recently ) so im obliged to be awake from 12 midnight to 4am to care for the dog. In the morning i spend my time (majority), sleeping.
I know that this is not the way to live but i feel like ive been lazier and lazier. I have no job as of the moment and confused. The strain of it was getting into me. On days when im well im looking for a job.
I am an only child with parents both retired. For 10 years, a doc supported and cared for my mental health and he retired. He was the best doctor that I've had. However, starting this year, he retired. I feel like I have no one to hold on to. On those good days, I was able to go back to school, lost 40+ pounds conitunued up to 53 pounds (now gained half of it) , got a clear skin, etc.
Speaking of friends, I dont have friends. All of them are in abroad or live far away. The fact that im unemployed makes me feel emabarassed to socialize. Though i think that it is what I need.
My present doc said that I need to force myself to get up from bed even if im so down and depressed. Do the things I have to do. But its so hard for me. I feel so hopeless.
I am just reaching out. Thank you everyone.
Sending love and hugs.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...
Not sure how old you are??? But, are you in school right now?
I am sorry to hear about your dog. :-( When you are watching him overnight, could you be asleep while watching him? Maybe he can be in your bedroom overnight? So that you get some sleep and you not sleep all morning?
Lots of questions.... hope you will write some more so that we can suggest something to help you feel better!
Our dog just passed away today, this afternoon.
Thank you for letting me know about the other group. Can you paste the link if allowed. TYSM
talk soon.
Not working has a way of making one get into a rut and definitely not get anything done. I know it :(
Is there a short 3-6 week class you can take to give you something to look forward to? A course that is "work'related" that would add a skill even if its an excel class? I don't know if you could find one for free or a discount.
I also at one point went to the library a few times a week and used that time to write down those thoughts and ideas whatever they may be/however scattered they may be; maybe sit with a book resume for dummies and see what little tweaks you see. Sometimes the library has job sources.
