I never heard of it.

It is a pain medicine that is a nerve blocker . It doesn't work but the side effects are bad news.

I do not like Tramadol. They have tried twice to use it on me. Both times, I threw up, had a headache, and was up for 8 hours in the middle of the night.

My doctors have agreed... we will never do that road again!!

Sorry to hear that. I was om Tramadol and it worked great for me. I guess evryone is different. Are you on anything else that is helping? Hope you feel better soon.

I was on it for almost a year..it was good for me at first..Until I ran into problems with my insurance and/or my pharmacy and pain management causing me to be without medication for an entire week.. during the firs several days of being without tramadol ,I went through horrible withdrawals that were as bad and worse then the pain i was in!..I researched it later and found that they can be compared to heroin withdrawals? Crazy right?

During the last few months of taking tramadol I had an equivalent of a migraine( iget these too) that lasted 3 whole months .. the medication i am on for them did not touch them on anything else i took trying to stop them ..I had nausea ect.. The tramadol stopped working for my pain they switched medications..funny thing.. my headache was gone as well! soo I think it may have been the tramadol. My neurologist told me he thought it was the cause as well..

Tramadol has some nasty side effects. They effect us all differently. I feel bad for anyone who has had to deal with them.

I have been moved to Neurotin. It seems to be doing better. I have a low tolerance to pain medication.... So I have to be careful.

I have been on it several times over the years with no side effects. As it was said earlier, everyone reacts differently to different drugs. Work with your doctors to find the ones that suit you best. And good luck!

Well so far nothing at all helps or has helped with the pain except one time I had to go to the ER and they gave me a shot of zofran and Dalotted it pretty much knocked me out noticed the pain but didn't care . I have to go to my GP tomorrow to see what my MRI showed this time and to get new meds so we will see if she can come up with something that will work .

It did absolutely nothing to help my pain, but everyone is different.

well I now know that I am allergic to tramadol so that is why it was messing with me so severely so now she has put me on Methadone and it still is doing nothing for the pain I understand everyone is different but I am just posting the news about my situation !

Hi how are you I had tried tramadol its in the motrin family It worked for a short period but not like the motrin 800 or 600 works for me.So I take motrin 600 the most like 2 times a day or 3 thats when the pain is intense.

I am taking Tramadol now and it helps reduce the pain so I can sleep. Thank heaven I can sleep. Unfortunately, I can't take it during the day because it makes me drowsy and dizzy.

I've been taking tramadol for about 6 months, it helps some but doesn't take away all my pain. I don't have any bad side effects from it. I'm sorry to hear that some of you do.

I was just on Tramadol recently and it didnt really help with my pain. It did mess with my sleep though. If I took it at night, I wouldnt be able to go to sleep until around 3 or 4am. So I just stopped taking it.

I took for it a year in 2004. Don't remember any side effects. Just that it did nothing for the pain so I stopped taking it. Again, I took it for a year so I gave it a fair chance. The VA really pushes this instead of narcs.
